OMG...............were they able to get the smell out of your clothes and stuff or did you have to burn everything?
Invasive Animals!
We had to replace the mattress in that room, the clothes that were in that room were washed twice before the smell came out. I"m not sure if it's really out or I'm just used to the faint odor now. It happened in my 10 year old son's room. My dog sleeps with him in his bed. But the WHOLE house was affected.
Respect the skunk.
The far away scent of skunk spray we've all smelled or driven over, is nothing like being directly sprayed. It's truly indescribable, gets into everything, including the food. It's some kind of oily substance. The smell makes you retch and vomit. It's unbearable.
The dog still smells a bit, after five baths in different solutions. He was the one directly sprayed, but we decided to keep him. It's been ten and a half years, might as well stick with a good dog. :)
Tiptoe around those skunks in your garden. Fear the spray!
Oh, I know.......our son has had to wash their dog in the milkhouse with baking soda and peroxide a couple of times. Milkhouse was good because of plentiful hot water and don't have to worry about making a mess. LOL Poor Moxie dog............ The baking soda and peroxide must work, because I couldn't even smell skunk when I went out to the barn and into the milkhouse.
Off topic, but "milkhouse" term made me look at where you are - Wisconsin You all must be happy about the Packers. But, you know, here in California, we have happy cows. :-)
As of Oct. 1st of last year, we have NO COWS!!!!!!! I'd like to think they were happy for the most part when they were here.
I am done with the voles and chipmunks. I will be trying to kill or ward them off with someting this year. The chipmunks are as bad as the voles. Digging in the ground so much that the plants no longer have roots in the soil holding them down. Voles and Chipmunks begone.
Ahhhhhhhhh .... voles/field mice. I know what field mice are so now I know what voles are.
We had a skunk spray underneath the house. It reeked of rotten eggs!
