Does anyone think the little ones will still be around after about a 2 week hiatus?

Mandeville, LA(Zone 8b)

I would think it depends on when the eggs were laid. But still, mama birds and fledglings stay around the nesting area. There should be a food source that was part of the initial attraction.

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

I can't answer your question, but I sure did enjoy seeing your beautiful photos!

Marlton, NJ

I would agree with gazer.

Clinton, MD(Zone 7a)

Thanks all. I plan to visit them early Sunday morning...hope to get some feeding shots.

Yes spectacular shots Met! I love the 3rd before last where the wind is blowing the feathers up.

Thanks again everyone. I enjoy providing photos for everyone's viewing pleasures just as I enjoy viewing everyone's photos. Here's a series on the American Robbin. When I was at the Theodore Roosevelt Island this Robbin followed me where ever I went while I was photographing the Mallards. Everywhere I turned there it was just sitting there watching me; it was not afraid of me. So I had to take it's photo...maybe I will see the Robbin or it will spot me when I go back. On the 1st image I had to step way back to get it's photo as it was so close while it watched me.

Outstanding shots Met! they are so very clear and detailed! Thats one handsome Robin!

Clinton, MD(Zone 7a)

This next set is on the Mallard Duck family. I spotted these while the Robbin above was following me. At first they were shy and would not let me get to close; they'd hide around these boulders in the water but after awhile they realized I was not threat and allowed me to capture some family shots. These photos were also taken at Theodore Roosevelt Island.

First image is Pops keeping a close eye on me from a far while the family was resting. It's amazing how their natural instincts is similar to ours (humans) when rearing a family. I enjoyed watching how he and the mother interacted with the each other and the little ones; it was clear though who wore the pants (he did...smile)

Beautiful shots Met! Mama and little ones are so adorable and Dad so handsome!

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Nice series on both Meth. Baby ducks are the CUTEST!

I have found some of the robins here tolerate me getting fairly close. We have also noticed the catbirds that are coming to the feeder are getting used to us.

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

I'm always happy to see your new photos. Mr. Robin is just so handsome and clear. Your duck family is equally wonderful. Looks like that island is a perfect spot to bring that camera. Love all your pictures!

Clinton, MD(Zone 7a)

Thanks everyone. I will post more of the ducklings later

Clinton, MD(Zone 7a)

Well it's been 2 weeks since I've posted anything. Life has been pretty busy and I have not had lots of time to go through my photos and post them. Well I was looking through some photos and realized that I have never posted any Seagull photos, either here or on my web page. So here's a few shot of a juvenile Seagull from early this winter.
