I do not have a picture, but I have seen some kind of giant larvae or slugs in my beds. I saw this bright yellow thing and went to touch it and it moved. So I dug it out and it was about 1 inch long and very fat, patially yellow/orange and the rest white. any idea what it might be?
Thank you,
Lucy
Giant larvae?
At this time of year, it is common to encounter larvae (caterpillars) of moths in the family Noctuidae (cutworms, etc.) at or just below soil level in gardens and flower beds. See http://tinyurl.com/2e73jyz to see if any resemble what you saw.
Not even close. It is white with about a third of its body a bright yellow/orange. But thanks for trying.
Please try to get a photo should you see another one - otherwise, wild guesses are about all you can expect...
