Joplin, MO(Zone 6b)

I'd wear a pair of long welding gloves when i used the wire corner trick... just incase she decides to snack on your fingers.. otherwise it sounds like a plan...

Geese are the most awesome protective mothers!

Yes, I expect Miss J was quite awed by her goose's performance!

Kingman, AZ(Zone 7a)

Well Porkpan, that was not the words I wanted to use, I knew she was protective but to turn on me was down right Unbelievable... She hisses when anyone comes near the pen, but that was WOWOWW is about all I can say...Billy tells her to mind her manners, I tell him she is just protecting her babies... Almost had me one of them little buggers, I was hoping to grab one to try with Pendleton, but alis it ran back into the pen after much scolding by momma... My other goose is sitting, and I got to be honest, not quite sure this will happen again, I love my quiet loving chickens... and even the duck momma is not as vicious as the geese..

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

Have I mentioned I hate geese! Now I remember why. LOL

Kingman, AZ(Zone 7a)

THIS WILL BE THE FIRST AND LAST TIME I EVER ALLOW A HATCHING OF GEESE. The momma geese has killed two of my baby ducks and so when I get home I will get her in the pen with the other geese so the ducks can be alone.. SPEAKING of which anyone know how to tell the difference between boy and girl ducks? I have a order for a pair of ducks boy and girl...

I would have to wait for them to feather out and look at their color. The drake will have more color.

Richmond, TX

The drake will also have a curly "drake feather" at the base of his tail - unless its a Muscovey. Hens quack, drakes don't.

Don't the drakes whistle? Or is that geese?
