This spider is small, maybe 3/8 inch.
CLOSED: Spider in need of ID
This is a jumping spider (family Salticidae), apparently in the genus Phidippus; it looks a bit like Phidippus princeps - see http://tinyurl.com/y2cmffs for an example - but these spiders can show enough variation in color patterns to make positive identification from an image problematic.
