Looks like a tiny palm tree when it's coming up. No more than a foot tall. Flowers hang down.
Anybody know this little guy?
No but I hope someone does soon--need to get one:lol: It's really beautiful!
Is it a species?
It looks like Lilium callosum
Rick
It does a bit, but what I read about that one is it grows 1m (3 feet).
Mine only grows maybe a foot tall. Zone 5a.

Your "tiny palm tree" observation is typical of many species where leaves don't develop until a ways up from the soil line. But I didn't find any literature to support or deny this characteristic.
If the buds are the shape in these photos, than I would say callosum.

Anymore identifying pictures -foliage, stem, complete inflorescence ...
Where did you get it?
It could also be a form of L. pumilum. And they also can have the "palm tree" effect. This species is far more common in the trade and more likely in that respect, but there is something about it .
The bud form should be an easy differentiation.

Those pics are from last year. I'll make sure to take better identifying ones when he comes up this Spring!
Thanks for the help!
