This is a spider beetle (Coleoptera: Anobiidae; subfamily Ptininae); likely a shiny spider beetle, Gibbium psylloides - see http://tinyurl.com/mamup5 for a fact sheet that includes control recommendations. Spider beetles formerly were placed in a family of their own (Ptinidae), and you will see many references to this.
