Bluebird surprise - 2010

Mandeville, LA(Zone 8b)

I know what you mean. I see my BBs out in the yard, and I rush out with the mealworm box, and they are gone. I can't leave mealworms out unless they are present. The Mockers are pretty much gone, my big problem now is the Brown Thrashers! And God help me, the Louisiana Waterthrush (a tiny little bird) caught wind of the mealworms. I chased both away and stood by while poppa BB commanded the mealworm feeder this morning. Momma BB is repeatedly in-and-out of the nest box all day. Tomorrow I want to take pics of her nest. This is my first nesting box, and I am very curious.

The meal worm feeder I posted above will stop the action between the meal worms and the mockers and thrashers. My brown thrashers eat my peanut butter suet that I make.
