I always love your shots, duc. Everybody is taking such wonderful shots, and these threads are filling up so fast! Here is one of the Blue Jays taking a peanut.
DAILY PICS VOL 308
Wonderful shots guys!!
Lily, That is a sweet pic of the Waxwings and Titmouse!
GP, Lovely shots. I wish I saw the Catbirds as often as you do.
Boy, do I have bird envy! Some of your pictures remind me of the days I lived in MN on the Mississippi flyway which promoted my addiction to birding. Loved the catbirds and thrashers and all of the warblers that came through. Am I getting the idea they have changed the name of the Myrtle Warbler back to that. For a while I could only find it as a "Yellow Rumped Warbler"?????? Thanks again.
I've learned that this Redheaded Woodpecker is one resilent bird. It will yield to others, for an example the RedBellied Woodpecker(s) and the tree rats. But it sure can defend its own nest. This morning my Red Headed returned to check out the backyard feeder (I haven't seen it back here in months). It promptly gave the right of way to the Red Bellied, however.
Mrs_Ed, I love those Chickadees.
duc, we don't have crows up here, but several times I have seen the ravens harassing the Golden Eagles. I even took photos a few years ago, but they were way to distant.
On the other side, I've watched the tiny Tree Swallow chase off the Crows when I lived at the coast, and the Ravens up here.
Did you all remember to hang seeding cat-tails for your hummers and others to gather for nest liner? I've got it near two of my hummer feeders, and have had takers at both.
Little, It's so good to see you! I LOVE that Stork!!!
Mrs Ed, sweet shot of the Chickadee!
Lily, Love the Red-headed Woodpecker!!
Nanny, Nice shots of all your birds!
Adel, Nice shots! That is not a Song Sparrow. It does look like a Lincoln's.
Pelle.........I hope you are right. If so it's a lifer for me.
Lily, I can see you get as excited as I do when you see the beautiful waxwings.
GP, your jay is beautiful and I do love that red-bellied. That Mockingbird looks happy too. Glad you're still enjoying the Buntings-great photos!
Mrs Ed, I sure am looking forward to seeing the fledglings of your Chickadee.
Lily, that's interesting to learn about your wps. Cute photo of your red-headed.
Nanny, love those beautiful cardinals!! Your goldfinches are so cute too. Your Bluebirds are just adorable. I think your female was trying to play hard to get. LOL
Tigerlily, I recall our Tree Swallows diving at the Crows when the Crows are sitting at the peanut feeder which is too close to the swallow birdhouse. I guess all these birds are just trying to protect their nests.
LittleThings, that's a great photo from such a long distance away!! Tell your wife I enjoyed seeing the Stork and thanks for sharing it with us.
Adel, great photos of your birds. That Lincoln Sparrow is a great sight. Congrats on the lifer!
Wow, that stork is AMAZING!
Dave, beautiful start to this thread.
Love everyone's Blue Birds.
Reddirttree, can't believe you can go look everyday like that. If I even look at my birds, they leave. I guess once they've laid eggs, they have more invested. I'm dying to look at this nest under the climbing rose, but I'm afraid that I'll scare them away.
Burd, amazing photos of that gnatcatcher. Those are hard little devils to pin down in a photo.
Duc, your eagle shots are just amazing.
Well, I can't compete with GP, but I did have one Indigo Bunting stop by today. I was outside and a beautiful male perched near me and right above a blooming Louisiana iris. Didn't have my camera though! Ran inside and only got this pic through the window before it left. Hasn't come back darn it.
Mytle warbler was changed to Yellow rumped, but some of us are stuborn.
Recently it has officially been changed back to Myrtle Warbler (East) and Audubons Warbler ( in West). :-)
Myrtle has White throat.
Audubon's has Yellow throat.
Thanks Pelle Wish officials could make up their minds, but hooray for the Myrtle!
Great! Sure wish they would make up their minds too. Now I guess I have Audubon's Warblers. Thanks for the update, Pelle.
Duc, I just love the shot of the eagle flying over the two crows in the tree.
Little, great shot that your wife took.
That stork is pretty funny!
Tiger, I put up those cattails last year, but had no takers. Mostly because I don't have many summer hummers. I wonder if the chickadees would like it.
Speaking of chickadees, My girl keeps on coming and going in the nest box, but no eggs yet.
Both so cute Adel!!
Same here Mrs Ed but I have to figure a way to get out to that box to look for eggs, lol.
I think you need to make DH install a nestcam and run the wires to your TV.
I'm just concerned about whether or not they'll actually lay. Last year they did not.
Margaret, those were great shots of the Cuckoo Shrike, and Woodswallow, and kite, on the previous thread. Nice to see birds we don't get to see here.
Dave, wonderful start, with the nice variety of birds you get there.
So many exciting things happening with everyone!!!
Burd, I love the expression on the Gnatcatcher, what a lovely bird. Would like to see one of those here.
I'm glad the Redheaded Woodpecker came back Lily.
Congratulation Adel on the Lincoln.
I have a Purple Finch looking in, through my LR window.
