Oops sorry ~ Blkraven. More coming at ya...

These are weeds but I love them. They bloom outside the bedroom window and are immensely fragrant at night. I lay in bed and savor the air.

Love the color of those "weeds". What kind of weed are they?

I'm sorry... those are plain old phlox. I let them reseed before I mow and they are wonderful this spring.
Sad but most of the blooms I am excited about this spring are vegies. First blooms on cukes, squash and potatoes today. Yipee! lol

A closer view of the phlox.

Here's one last Cinnamon Girl. This came from Sylvia Gordon, a lady who attended one of our RU's. Almost all my other irises are done. They were so pretty this year... I hate to see them go.

Stephanie, I'm really interested in what you're saying about the alpine geraniums. I can NOT grow those in full sun. They shrivel right up. On the other hand, they're doing great in dappled morning sun only, full shade in the afternoons. I wish I could get them to grow in the hot spot I bought them for! Such cute little things, aren't they?

Had to include this picture, even though it was taken in April 2009. It was just funny to run across it right now because it has so many plants given to me by good friends at DG. In this photo are an American Beautyberry from Becky... butterfly ginger from Sheila... Philippine lily from Ceejay... oxeye daisies from Carla... behind those, a blue salvia from Kim... an agastache from Lee... comfrey from Barb... a flame acanthus from Pat... schoolhouse lilies from Trishann... and crinum from Trishann's grandma. There's also a crinum from Kim and a hosta from Becky, but I don't think they're visible.

The first year I had the cranesbill geranium, it was in the shade and hardly grew. I moved it to my backyard in full sun and it's grown like crazy! It's survived the winters, outside, except for when it gets down to the 20s and teens for several nights. I've covered it and it's done fine and I've brought it inside. I've had it in full sun all day long and in an area that gets sun until about 4pm and it's loved it. It's in a pot right now, but I'm going to divide it and plant it in the ground this spring.

Arlington, TX

Stephanie, cranesbill geranium is hardy to zone 5.
