Thank you Rose. Sorry about the "poofings" incidence.

I'm anxious to find out whether this chatty bird has eggs yet? If I get too close to their Gourd nest, will that scare them into abandoning their home? Inquiry mind likes to know, can you help? lol. My Carolina Wren.

Burd, beautiful Grackles, Congrats on the BB's five new babies. Arhhhh, the Momma BB looking proud and deserving so. lol. The female Cardinal is beautiful too.

The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

No problem Burd...those are awesome close ups!

Lily...I don't know how fussy the Carolina's are about being disturbed but hopefully someone will come along that knows. Those little birds are sure heart-warmers!

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Thanks Rose.

Last one....a pair of Swallows.

Those goldfinches' transformation is quite remarkable! The Barn Swallows are terrific. When I heard pecking noises coming from this tree. I automatically assumed it was the Redheaded Woodpeckers were at work. But look; they have a visitor, what looks like a Northern Flicker. Oh oh!

#1 Redheaded WP returned to the nest early in the day.

#2, This doesn't look anything like the RH woodpecker, but a Northern Flicker?

Looks like a flicker to me Lily.

Rose...can't believe the eggs have hatched already!

I need to get me on of those ground bath...instead of my fancy metal dish with a rock in it! LOL

One of our male Robins is getting used to the new platform feeder.....

I have really been enjoying the antics of the robins this year. We have 2 males that fight and bicker and now a female is in the mix. It was only last year when the pair started coming to the oriole table that we really had robins in the yard.

He just acts like King of the Hill sometimes!

You can't just eat any old grape...got to find just the right one!

Very inquisitive little guy! Or is that a gal? LOL

The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

Wow Nanny...I've never seen a Robin eat from a feeder!! Very very cool!

BTW...the eggs hatched on Wed and Thurs...I'm a Grandma again!

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

That is one of the boys....I really was hoping he would use it...but wasn't sure if he would or not. :)

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7a)

Oh my! Go away for the weekend and you get so far behind!

Adel... great start to the new thread! Love you Tree Swallow!

Burn... your goldfinch and chickadee are so nice!

Burd... I love your Myrtle Warbler and Ruby-crowned Kinglet! great catch!

Nanny... beautiful bluebird and cardinal!

Duc... your Hooded Orioles are gorgeous! Wow!

Pelle... your blue jay and robin are precious!

Dellrose... I love those swallows! How beautiful!

Lily... great that you saw the flicker. I saw one too this weekend!

I am just returning from a trip to visit my Mom. Did some birdwatching there! Hubby and I went out on Saturday morning and thought we had +ID'd and photo's a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker... until I got home and put them on the computer. We then ID'd it as a Northern Flicker! Not as good a photo as I would have liked! He was just singing away!

Hubby got this photo of an Eastern Towhee (is that correct?)...
I didn't get to see it! :o(

This Mama Canada Goose had made her nest on an abandoned beaver lodge. Guess she could see well from the top of it. She was very defensive... so I am sure she was incubating eggs.

Wild Rose, thank you for sharing the pics. from your trip. Welcome home. I'm glad you've got a better picture of the Northern Flicker. Aren't they pretty? Often time I see those type of birds that when they're foraging on the ground rarely on trees. When I caught them perching on tree branches it's really a treat, affording me better photo session -- wasn't so this last one.

Your Towhee is a true Towhee, but look he seemed to be perturbed by something. His hair on top of his head is all stood up. lol Oh and the Goose sitting on the nest! It's heart warming. There will be babies soon. I love those native sparrows. I am learning how to find them by looking for them on the ground and low branches, and shrubs.

editted for typos.

Pelle, I love that ground birdbath of yours. I'd love to put one out for my birds, but unfortunately we have neighborhood cats that love to hunt. That jay photo is just beautiful. By the way, you and Lily are welcome here anytime!

Lily, that red-bellied is just beautiful. That view of the three birds is wonderful. Your feeder sure attracts the birds. Cute flicker too! Love that heron and warbler too!

Rose, congratulations on the bb babies!! How exciting for you. I can't wait to see their pictures when they get older. That female cardinal is spectacular!

Burd, thanks for the gorgeous Grackle shots, love those birds. That dove is another pretty bird.

Rose, love your goldfinches and the swallows are just beautiful. Congratulations "granny"!

Nanny, cute photos of your robin.

WildRose, your flicker is still cute and hubby did a great job with the towhee too. Great pictures of mama goose and the sparrow.

Met, fantastic photos of the osprey. I really like that last one coming toward you.

This Bullock's Oriole didn't look too happy that I was looking at him through the window.
