Nice shots all! Duc, those Hooded Orioles are beautiful!!
a few shots from the backyard Common Grackle (bronzed form)
DAILY PICS VOLUME 307
Burd, beautiful Grackles, Congrats on the BB's five new babies. Arhhhh, the Momma BB looking proud and deserving so. lol. The female Cardinal is beautiful too.
No problem Burd...those are awesome close ups!
Lily...I don't know how fussy the Carolina's are about being disturbed but hopefully someone will come along that knows. Those little birds are sure heart-warmers!
Thanks Rose.
Those goldfinches' transformation is quite remarkable! The Barn Swallows are terrific. When I heard pecking noises coming from this tree. I automatically assumed it was the Redheaded Woodpeckers were at work. But look; they have a visitor, what looks like a Northern Flicker. Oh oh!
#1 Redheaded WP returned to the nest early in the day.
Very inquisitive little guy! Or is that a gal? LOL
Wow Nanny...I've never seen a Robin eat from a feeder!! Very very cool!
BTW...the eggs hatched on Wed and Thurs...I'm a Grandma again!
That is one of the boys....I really was hoping he would use it...but wasn't sure if he would or not. :)
Oh my! Go away for the weekend and you get so far behind!
Adel... great start to the new thread! Love you Tree Swallow!
Burn... your goldfinch and chickadee are so nice!
Burd... I love your Myrtle Warbler and Ruby-crowned Kinglet! great catch!
Nanny... beautiful bluebird and cardinal!
Duc... your Hooded Orioles are gorgeous! Wow!
Pelle... your blue jay and robin are precious!
Dellrose... I love those swallows! How beautiful!
Lily... great that you saw the flicker. I saw one too this weekend!
I am just returning from a trip to visit my Mom. Did some birdwatching there! Hubby and I went out on Saturday morning and thought we had +ID'd and photo's a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker... until I got home and put them on the computer. We then ID'd it as a Northern Flicker! Not as good a photo as I would have liked! He was just singing away!
Wild Rose, thank you for sharing the pics. from your trip. Welcome home. I'm glad you've got a better picture of the Northern Flicker. Aren't they pretty? Often time I see those type of birds that when they're foraging on the ground rarely on trees. When I caught them perching on tree branches it's really a treat, affording me better photo session -- wasn't so this last one.
Your Towhee is a true Towhee, but look he seemed to be perturbed by something. His hair on top of his head is all stood up. lol Oh and the Goose sitting on the nest! It's heart warming. There will be babies soon. I love those native sparrows. I am learning how to find them by looking for them on the ground and low branches, and shrubs.
