I am in California till 8th May when i return to Malaysia.

Would anyone be kind enough to let me know where i can buy unrooted rose cuttings? I am staying around the Los Angeles area.

Varieties i am looking for are :

Honey Perfume

I looking at purchasing between 15 - 20 cuttings per variety (Probability of success) - Virus free, and would like to know if anyone here can let me know where to buy them.

I've never heard of anyone selling "unrooted" rose cuttings at any retail place here. Your best option would be to find someone who has the plants in their garden and have them give you cuttings.

Yeah, I know... however I do not know anyone who grows roses. Hence taking the chance in this forum here.

petercgoh, I've never heard of anyone selling rose cuttings here. Even when we buy "bare root" roses, they are grafted plants from a wholesale grower, and that is only in our winter season. Those of us that do cuttings, just share with neighbors, and that would most likely be in winter/ early spring, when we prune them back. The roses you are looking for are all protected by patent laws, so unless you find a gardener who is willing to share, you would have to buy them on line from the grower. Sorry!

Thanks OCCAROL,

Buying online is no problem, however Travelling back to malaysia with the pot and all would be a problem because of the weight and space limitation. Any one in this forum here willing to donate / sell some cuttings to me? I live in the Chino Hills area untill 8th May.

Hey petercgoh! DH has friends in KL.
I sure wish I could help you, but I don't have the kinds of roses you are looking for. I do have a suggestion or two though.
I have a friend who gives me the flowers the stores throw away when they start to fade. Perhaps you can find the kind you are looking for and see if you can buy them, or if they'll let you have the ones they plan on throwing out. I'm rooting a couple I got from a floral arrangement they had thrown out.
Another option might be to ask your local florists for some. They may be able to buy the kinds you want, and help you package them for that long plane flight back to KL. I hear it gets pretty cold in the hold and am unsure how unrooted rose cuttings would do.
Hope this helps.
