Had to pick up a package at the Post Office and got a surprise. I had joined the National Home Garden Club as a life member and they sent me a box full of nice gifts.
1. Garden gloves
2. Pruning shears - long handle
3. Hand pruners
4. Tree saw
5. Canvas green tote bag
6. garden mat
7. Pruning cutters that fold up
8. A Directory of Public Gardens for all states
9. My own personal stationery

I got that stuff when I joined too, Marti. I carry the tote bag all over with me outside. Nice stuff.

That tool (#7) comes in handy for tons of stuff.

Here's a link crissy. It's a nice club, they have lots of stuff you can do, contests, giveaways, product testing etc..

I think when I joined the life membership was around $200.

crissy, to clarify that, you can become a regular member for about $12/year and still get some cool stuff. The they try to convert you to life membership, but they'll take whatever you paid already & put it against it.

I'm a member too. And test a lot of stuff that they send me. Have beed disappointed in a couple of things though. The pruners that I received were dull, and broke first time I used them. Cheaply made. But I love all the books that they send and buy everyone of them. Lots of good info

They sent me this weed spray once, it's supposed to kill perennial weeds. I tried it out at work on the weeds against the building, there's a big bare spot where they were. That stuff worked very well!
