I have a 'Pizzazz' from The Lily Garden that looks identical to 'Scheherezade', and have thought it may be mislabeled. In Plantfiles there are 2 pics, one looks like mine, and the other looks more like the catalog pics. I didn't think the petals were supposed to be recurved. Wondering if anyone else has noted this?
Anyone have a pic of 'Pizzazz' from your garden?
Pizzazz and Scheherazade look quite different from each other. Pizzazz has and more burgundy color in the center and almost an orangish yellow on the outside of the petal. If you held the flowers side by side, you would see the difference immediately.

Here is Scheherazade for comparison. The colors and flower form are very different. I do love them both.
Both are clones and not strains, so although weather differences may vary the shades a bit, they are as you see above...clones.... each one of them ^_^

Makes me think a whole batch of mislabeled bulbs may have been sent out.
I kept thinking they should not look alike at all, and that Pizzazz should have that butterscotch color in the margins. Oh well, since it didn't even bloom the first year, and this will be my 3rd year with it, nothing can be done about it. But I still want 'Pizzazz', LOL!
There have been times where I have looked at lilies in PF and could make an excellent case for them NOT being who they claim to be. The proverbial 'Stargazer' is one of the listings that I could argue over. Lol. For being a clone, there sure are some "different" looking lilies in there.
I do hope you get Pizzazz. It's a really nice one. And if you ever question the identity of a lily from Judith (the Lily Garden), shoot her an email with a picture and she will either clear it up for you or replace the mistake. Sometimes it takes her a bit to respond, but she always does.
Well, I thought about emailing Judith, but since I got the bulb through a co op (not here on DG), I figured there was a possibility the host made the mistake. The price has come down on it enough now that I'll have to get it soon.
I ordered Pizzazz from The Lily Garden for this spring so will not be any help until much later in the year. I just could not resist it. The picture was so striking. I have Scheherazade which they gave me as a bonus bulb last year.
I ordered Pizazz as well! Will be excited to see it bloom!
