This spider has built a web at the top of a small fig tree. The picture is looking at its underside. Its front legs are much longer than the rest. Its at least an inch or so in length, including its legs. What kind of spider is it?

This appears to be a long-jawed orb weaver (family Tetragnathidae) - see http://tinyurl.com/yhc2tqw for a dorsal view of one. They all are harmless to humans.
