this is my 2-n-1 plum tree (a yellow and a purple fruit) last year was the first year it gave fruit and only the yellow plums - this year the entire tree is COVERED in buds - 4th year in i believe - i will put netting over this after it blooms to keep the tree rats and birds away.

Nice magnolia bloom, Bill.

Thanks, Allison.

Nice, Rama.

Malvern, PA(Zone 6b)

Thanks Guys. I am hoping it is a peony, although the thought crossed my mind that it could be maple seedling too.
It had been a mild winter despite the snowfall. You would be laughing I think I saw a sunflower seedling and three cosmos volunteers from last year. My 11yo daughter laughs that it is Zinnia and not the sunflower- sure she is right.

Jumper, I like where you have planted the blues...looks very natural. Jo...you have lots going on! Bill...your garden is too neat! But I love the idea of 2 diff. plums on the tree! And Rama, that seedling looks more like a maple, peonies are fernier. Allison, your hellebore is so nice.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Hi Celest.
I have a question about the Jap.Primroses.
I wanted to add some to my Bluestone order but noticed they like moist growing conditions.
How are yours growing?
Mine are in clay with compost and mulch.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Mine have been growing in area that gets morning sun only and is wet in the spring time, but dry the rest of the year. The shade garden has lots of organic matter in it.....I leave my leaves and fall debris in place until spring. The leaves help to keep it moist and the soil rich from the breakdown over the years. Maybe thats why I noticed at least 10 baby seedlings sprouted OUTSIDE of the shade bed this year! :o

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Sounds good and very similar to where mine are.

Thomaston, CT

Oooh, primrose babies! I have not noticed if mine have returned. Ric & Holly, you have little cuties...Lily goes with the gardens! All of my spuria iris made it through the winter...here's hoping they bloom.
