This was on the side of my house, it is about 2-3 inches in length. Just was curious about what it is.

This caterpillar is a larva of a moth in the family Geometridae. Because of their variability in color patten, i would be hesitant to put a specific i.d. on it. See http://tinyurl.com/ydtktyu for that bears some resemblance to yours, and http://tinyurl.com/nsutln for a sampling of other species that could occur in your area
