In the process of doing Spring cleanup in the garden, I've found a number of these egg cases. I've been saving them, hoping they are praying mantis. Hopefully they aren't something I should be getting rid of. Anyone recognize these?

Yes, this does appear to be a mantid egg case (ootheca) - keep them in a safe place until hatching time.
