What IS this? Pic1

I'm posting these pics on the what is this thread also, but I am sure they are bulbs. We planted several hundred bulbs in the lawn last fall. It's a little hard to tell but these came up in a pattern in the grass that suggests to me we planted them. They have tiny, skinny, lightish green leaves, all tangled-in the first pic you can see them around the leaf on the ground.

We planted several kinds of frittilaria, nectosporum (sp?) along with the regs. I can i.d. the tulips, daffs etc. but these are a mystery. Any help?

if they have an oniony tast, they're probably chives

looks like onions to me.
I think maybe it is actually a wild garlic. Just pinch off a piece and smell it, then you will know.

bingo! I got it! Planted some ornamental allium last fall, and I'm sure that's what this is! I think by then we were pretty loopy from all the bulb popping that we absolutely lost track. In looking over my master list, and smelling a piece, you all helped me make the connection. Thanks SO much. Now .... if I could just remember WHY I planted it, and what it's supposed to look like, I'd be fine. Off to Plant Files for me! Again, many thanks!
