Are you into them?? Tattoos, piercings, tongue-splits, etc. Do you like them? Why? Why not?
I am not into them at all. Seems every young female these days has the tattoo on the lower back.
I hear that the tongue piercing 'enhances the experience', but ...Has anyone had this done? Painful??
What happens when you're 75 years old??
Body embellisments??
How in the he// can he wash his face? Keep all those holes and stuff (not going to call it jewlery) clean? Must take hours per day.
I was just thinking about the crab tostadas with asparagus I'm having for diner, was planing on 7:30, NOT ANYMORE!
Holly
He probably has them somewhere on his face.
Luckily I have FireFox with Adblock plus, so I'm blocking the image!!
He's a looker!
OMG Victor I told myself not to come back to this thread until after breakfast tomorrow. Now I mean it! Over to the coleous, roses, mg's anywhere.
Hee hee! They're growing on him too! ^_^
I AM NOT enlarging that pic. All that stuff just creeps me out. Friend of ours had his nether regions pierced because "he was bored' oh that's a good reason to do that.
Watched a special awhile ago about tattooing. I think it was the Somoans, the men have to give it some time to think about what their tattoos are going to be because it has to have meaning and they have an entire ceremony and they actually pound the ink in...looks like some kind of funky hammer and then they go rinse in the ocean(OUCH!!!)
Real die hard tattoo artists will not just give you a tattoo of say "Mickey Mouse" just because you think it's cute, it has to have a real special meaning.
That was a very interesting special.
I'm wondering how all these things are going to look when they are in their 70's.
But you're a biker, Jen!
I know!!! and believe me I've seen EVERYTHING.
My son watched a man get one of the pounded tattoos while he was in Hawaii and said it was amazing. I like tattoos, I don't have any but my husband and both sons do and all of theirs have been designed by them and all have special meanings. I don't like the extream but when they are in good taste it is a special form of art to me. Piercings I can live without...pierced ears for me and only one whole in each and very rarely were earrings! My older son had his tongue pierced and only kept his for a short while....needless to say I didn't ask him about his experience with it! LOL Younger son wanted to but since he has Epilepsy we figured that wasn't such a bright idea!
I don't mind tattoos but don't have any and have never really wanted one...there just isn't any imagery I'm so in love with that I'd want on my body permanently. I can admire cool or meaningful ones on other people, though....not that I see a lot of those, though. Usually the ones you see that a drunk girl got while on spring break aren't that interesting. I like watching the tattoo shows on tv sometimes.
Piercing is something I just don't get the appeal of....and some areas more than others bother me. I hate those big huge ones people put in their ears that stretch them out . Ick. I had my ears pierced like everyone else when I was a teen, but I don't even wear earrings anymore
I saw a show on body implants. Woman had horn buds on her forehead.
After 75? How about 50. Doesnt that stuff migrate?
Body tatoos would seriously limit a wardrobe choice when you are finally come to your senses and want a job promotion.
I have a tattoo on my ankle.. a unicorn & a rose together... just wanted one.. planned on getting another and could never make a decision on what... so I never did.. the piercing is so beyond me.. I only wear my earrings when I get dressed up... but can do without them now.. when I was younger I wouldn't leave the house unless I had a pair on.. the lip & tongue ones confuse me.. why anyone would want to purposely mess up there speech is amazing to me... and I always wondered how many people lost out on a relationship because the eye contact was not being made... too busy starring at the jewelry
The piercings and cuttings has a really deep sick aspect. These people like pain.
Too bad they arent in touch with real feelings and have to go to such extreems to feel alive.
Just not my value system.
that is so beyond me as well... cutting.. I hate a paper cut!!!!
Tatoo on my hip. You wont see it unless I want you to see it. I wear not jewelry unless a wedding, funeral or job interview. Not even my wedding/eng ring.
Now that guy up there, he might think hes Kinky. Well Mr Kinky, I dont want you in my house and I would not even answer the phone if you called.................
ok Mr.Kinky then!!
Good thing these people keep to themselves.
I doubt they would ever want contact with us boreing civilians.
I have 8 tattoos. At one point I had 9 piercings, in various place, which I will not discuss here. As to the "migration" aspect of what is called a "skin on skin" piercing, ie. belly button, eye brow, or other place where cartilage is absent, the body will naturally try to get rid of these items. There is a lot (maybe to much) science going into types of "jewelry" in which the body won't try to rid itself of whatever it is, ie. new plastic/synthetics. A lot of times piercings will physically just push their way out (body auto response to a foreign body present). That person in the picture took things a smidge to far, as have several people out there.
If that is someone's wish, so be it. I hold no judgement against them. I know, when I was in my early to mid-20's I did a lot of questionable things. I don't regret them, but I know that they weren't necessarily cheap. There are a lot of people out there that "don't get" why I'm so in to plants, and would refer to me as a "crazy" plant person...I don't hold it against them, it's my shtick.
Just a FYI, a skin on skin piercing goes for about (depending where you are located) $75. The thing about that person in the pic, is, he/she probably has several thousand dollars "invested" in his "art."
What is it called when they have objects inserted under the skin?
Sex.
Skin implants...very few tattoo artists do them, and when they are completed they aren't cheap. Depending on what/where, and size, they can start at about $150, and on up.
lol to Victor :-)
There was a program on piercings etc and they were doing implants on a woman. Its a surgical proceedure but not sanctioned by and medical people so it's not done in the hospital and of course NO anesthesia.
Kreeps me out
not into tattoos or piercings - at lunch the other day our young waitress had a tongue piercing - she looked "normal" in every other way:) - every time i see one i think of what my wife the RN told me - the tongue does not heal like other parts of the body so the piercing is essentially an open wound waiting for bacteria to infect the person - wonder if they were told this?
I doubt they care. Seems to be a misplaced badge of courage to do it.
I would love to have that split tongue and have someone ask for directions. I would point to the right with the left half, and to the left with the right.
It comes down to what you like and what you dont like. Thom it might be good artwork to you, but not me. The same thing with Leonardo da Vinci and the Mona Lisa, I dont like it, the woman is ugly and I hate her smirk on her face. So I will take Van Gogh A Stary Night as it is beautiful. OK you hate that one its not good art work to you. This is just an example.
Mona Lisa was pierced - can't tell you where.
Whoa - her private life was her business.
just how popular was it:)
Oh, okay. I was worried about splinters.
I've seen beautiful tattoos that I would definitely classify as "art work."
even the dogs looked at me like I was nuts laughing ... when I was all alone
