I will have some of this type as soon as it gets growing again.. it is actually called a "mini palm"... I have it growing in water but it grows well in damp ground also... right now they don't have any babies on them.. they are mostly brown on the tips from being dormand in the garage over the winter but when they start growing they will put out lots of babies I can send. They are easy to root. I might have a couple in the potting shed I have rooted over the winter.. will have to look.

there are two different plants one is umbrella palm and one is dwarf papyrus. I will post pictures. One is a mini version of the papyrus that the Egyptians made paper form and its a very dense plant spiky and spreads and gets very thick. we have this type ib our pond every, year. It doesn't not make it through the winter. we buy a new one every year they are not expensive about 12.00.
The other is the umbrella palm i will post photo that on has less leaves and has a more space between the leaves .
Your art work is very lovely and you are very talented. 12,.00 plant does not seem like a fare trade to me.

the first photo is papyrus' if you look closely there is a frog in the middle

thank you for your complients about my art work.. while it might not seem like a fair trade to me it is.. Im on a very tight budget and I have lots more time than money. What I create to trade has minimal supply costs but it takes time.. besides I like making stuff and I have to get rid of it somehow...lol..
Im looking for the full size egyptian papayrus.. I got some dwarf paparyus and an umbrella plant at the woodlands RU early this month. I was lucky enough to find a dwarf cattail and creeping jenny for 2.00 a pot. a few weeks ago. Im about 2 1/2 hrs from any really big city and theres not much to choose from unless I make an all day trip to a big city... I did get to OK city last week and found a red and green pitcher plant that fit my budget so I splurged and got it but no papayrus like I want... I know I could order on line but half the fun is the thrill of the hunt ya know???

wow, it really gets big 10 feet, that's to big for me and my zone isn't warm enough for it. I am zone 7, and my garden isn't big enough. My husband love's Egypt so we have a lot of Egyptian art and some papyrus art work. But i guess i will have to stick to the dwarf kind for me I have never seen the big stuff . I hope you are able to find it... best of luck. :)
