I don't know whether the striped ones are Easter Eggers, Welsummers, or Phoenix yet, but someone said that, since they were in an Ornamental Layer Collection, they are probably Phoenix.

They are a lot of fun.

I love that chicken run - looks great! I am also very jealous of your sunny and warm California zone 10 weather! Your trees have LEAVES on them! Argh!!!

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

I haven't seen a green leaf since about October, except on my houseplants.

Richmond, TX

Spring is here too (rare - usually we skip straight to summer.) I don't know how you residents of the frozen north stay sane.

Who said I was sane?! LOL!

Here's one little thing that helps!

We have leaves...and flowers... and WEEDS!! We will start our garden this week...

CMoxon....Chicken Fairy??

Claire... Wonderful, would you consider leasing out your DH for Chicken Run Assembly? Hawks can even take a small dog.. I know from experience.

Thanks, Claire. That's a great picture of you and the lamb. Lots of land and animals is all I need to be happy. I still have lots of fruit trees and plumerias without leaves. You're right though that it is nice having mild winters, but there are definitely trade offs. I think all of us our gardeners are a little crazy! LOL!

MissJestr, sure, I'll lease him out! LOL! Although, I'm not sure that he wants to build another. We're off to buy the coop today from Costco. It's not bad for $600. This is what it looks like below. We have another one that we are using for a shed. I'll post more pictures later when it is all done. Oh, gosh, that is awful that a hawk can take a small dog. I hope you didn't witness that. That would scar me for life. Nature can be so cruel.

Hi there. I saw that you guys were so helpful in identifying some breeds for mevnmart, and I was hoping you could help me with mine also. I bought the ornamental layer collection from McMurray Hatchery if that helps a bit. There are a couple of top hats, which I take are Polish ones? I think there are some Easter Eggers in there too maybe. Thanks so much for looking.

Here's the first of four pictures:
