Hello! I would love a few suggestions for a shrub with the following characteristics.

Full Shade
Moisture loving
Evergreen
2-4 feet tall
Zone 7b

Pieris — Lily of the Valley Bush

Many varieties and very beautiful. Look for the low growing. (Grows slow also --so you may want to get the size you need)

One of the Winter Daphnes should do well for you. We've had Daphne odora 'Aureomarginata' http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/79487/ in full shade under a canopy of pines for almost ten years and although it's expanded in width it remains at a height of 3'-4'. The foliage is spectacular all year long and the powerful fragrance is to die for!

The daphne we have is in bloom now and you are right Rcn it is to die for!
However daphne really doesn't like too much moisture. Perhaps if mounded it would do ok.

I'm in your zone, and I love mine.

Winter daphne is hard to grow--at least for me! Fla. Anise is made for the shade and likes moisture and you can get different foliage types and--it's native!
