Hi guys,
Anyone know this caterpillar? It has some similarities to Danaus genutia, the Orange Tiger, but lacks several features, particularly the three sets of tentacle like protrusions. Also the Orange Tiger is not reported to be this far south in Queensland, being the lower end of the North Burnett region.
All help appreciated.
Trevor
Australian Caterpillar ID - NYMPHALIDAE
This is an odd one. I have my doubts that it is in the family Nymphalidae; it looks more like a noctuid (or possibly even a sphingid, although I cannot see any 'horn' in this image).
