Help! About one year ago, these weird beetle started showing up & they're EVERYWHERE! I need to know what they are so I can get rid of them. I live in Lorain County in Northeast Ohio. The beetles are a dull brown & are triangle-shaped w/ very small heads & kind of short legs & antenna. They do have wings, but don't seem to be able to fly very well. I don't know if they bite, but they do seem to be very hardy & have been showing up in our garden & in our home all year round, even in the middle of winter! I can't find anything on them & believe they may be a newly introduced species to the area as I've never seen them in the 10 yrs I've lived here. I may be able to get an image in the future, but if you can, please help!!!
Help w/ Bettle Identification
Have a look at strawberry root weevils at http://tinyurl.com/ykgemph - weevils in this subfamily (Entiminae) are common indoor 'invaders.' If these do not seem to resemble your critters, please try to obtain an image that you can post to this forum.
