Yay!!!!! I came across a help site that told me to check to see if my clipboard/clipbook was disabled... when the guys reinstalled the stuff on my PC I ended up with a new toolbar (which I don't like) and I'm used to using my 'edit' button....so after re-enabling my clipboard/clipbook (why was it disabled?) and finding that I'd have to use the 'page' button to copy/paste, I can once again 'link'! Now, this is no big accomplishment for you computer geeks out there, but a biggie for me...lol...

Hmmmm, I'm using Vista (which I hate) with IE8, and haven't had a problem with creating links. I just right click on the web address, click on copy, then go to where I want to paste it, right click on the spot and click on paste. So far it always works.

I've got XP with IE8 and could no longer use my edit button, still can't after re-enabling clipboard/clipbook, but can copy/paste again now with the 'page' button. I hadn't known that way and ctrl c and v didn't seem to work either, but perhaps because of clipbook and perhaps after re-enabling clipbook...in any case, I can link again and I've found a new way to get there,so all's good. I do not any longer let the DH use my laptop either...lol....I get it back and lots of settings are different. He has his own,stay away from mine.....the answer to almost any problem in the world can be found online, it's just not always good to have to spend the time looking for the answers.

We have 4 computers (2 desktops & 2 laptops) for the same reason----never touch my computer unless invited, please!!!

Yeah, we seem to be computer rich for the same reasons...don't even ask what all my son has...lol...born of the electronic age and needs it all....

Well, I just downloaded firefox. Now I have to learn to use it.

IE8 wouldn't let me download it. I kept getting within 1% and then it would hang. I tried resetting my security, but no dice....

Having to replace my laptop - the new one came with Windows 7. Much better. DH hated Vista, too, and has been using 7 since it was in beta!

Ima, can you download Chrome?

Don't know.....I was only gonna try FF because Dave raved about it. I haven't had too many issues with IE8 until the last couple of days, when I wanted to put my fist through the screen. Not sure of the source, tho. Could be my ISP, or DG or who knows!

If it's because it's really slow and posts diappearing and other annoying stuff, it's not your PC, it's DG.....

Me three. I love Firefox, but don't ask me to use anything else 'cause I can't figure it out without help. Sure is cold today, only 48 degrees at 10:15 in the morning! Brrr, especially when you add in the wind chill factor.
I wasn't able to go online yesterday, though because my computer couldn't find the server? Everyone else in the family was able to go online, but they said it was all really slow. Makes me wonder if it isn't our Fios?
DG has been slow, it has lost some of my posts, too. I'm sure it'll get better though.
My son has an hp laptop like mine, only bigger. It's been in the shop for like 3 months to get fixed. They finally called and said it was ready for pick-up. DH and ES went to pick it up and it was like they hadn't done anything. DH was ticked off. He took it back and demanded satisfaction.
We got new phones, yea! BTW, in 2 days the warranty would have expired on ES's phone. DH left his phone where the condensation from his drink shorted it out on our trip, and y'all know that I keep dropping mine in water. Even still I've had my phone for five years. I was due for an upgrade. LOL!
