After reading today's article by Deb Magnes on the Ruby-Crowned Kinglet I thought I'd share my experience of a few weeks ago. We have had a few extra cold winter nights here in North Florida this year. I pulled into the garage after dark one evening when the temperatures were predicted to be going down to 28 degrees. I spotted a tiny little bird, with his beak pressed into the corner of the garage, he seemed to be shivering. I didn't want to stress him so I closed the garage door and left him for the night vowing I would get up before the sun to make sure to let him out. When I finally escaped from my warm bed the next morning I spied the ruby-crowned kinglet feasting on all the little spiders sharing the garage.

Oh tebay that is just adorable!!!
Thanks so much for sharing it with us!
too cute! how'd you get that picture?
Absolutely adorable!!
How sweet and thoughtful of you to shelter this cutie for the night. It's adorable.
Mrs_Ed asked how I took the picture. We have a transom window above our door. The bird was picking off spiders there. I got on a stool and took her picture through the dusty window.
Thanks for everyone's nice comments. This was my first post.
That is just too cool. I hope this will not be you last post.

Yes, Well done! Those stinkers are hard to watch/photograph because they move so quickly.
Lucky for you and lucky for the bird....and a rare photo-op!
