Once again I am having an RU at my house this summer. It will be on Saturday, July 18th, during peak daylily bloom, just like last year. Again there will be a Pot Luck Luncheon, a Plant/Seed Swap, and a Raffle (last year I did a Yankee Swap, but no one wanted to swap, so it will be a straight raffle this year). I'll be letting people dig daylilies from my gardens again, too.
We had a great time last year, and I'm looking forward to doing it again. I hope most of you who were here before will be able to attend, and I hope to see some new faces as well.
Here is the link to my RU thread: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1079083/
In the mean time, let's all think Spring!!!!!

Invitation to a Southeast MA RU during peak daylily bloom
it's on my calendar
One of these years I will be able to attend. You all must take lots of pics again.
Bummer - my stickball date again!
Hey, If I can get away, can I hitch a ride, Allison?
Not sure, Karen--it depends on how Doug is doing at the time---let you know closer to date---We loved the motel you suggested!
of course Jen.. was going to ask Memory as well.. think we would pass her
Nice! Looks like some of you can make it. I'm excited already!
Karen
Bummer - same problem for me as last year.......same date, same birthday weekend with family visiting! ugh.
I have to go look how many hours this is.. your photos always make me drool.. eeehh 4 1/2 hours.. I can do that!!
Oh, wonderful, Allison! That will so nice to meet you in person finally!
Karen
and you too!!
I'm sad you won't be able to make it, Louise. You are welcome to come and visit another weekend though, if you want. I am home most weekends and Mondays working in my gardens. When we get closer to the DL season, just give me a holler and we can arrange a day for you to visit. I'd love to have you and Hank over. Bring the 'girls', too.
Karen
I'm so sorry too, Karen! That's very sweet of you to invite us. We'll see how the summer goes! That would be fun! I hope you all have a ball! Can't wait to see your photos! Please say hello to your Dad for us! The girls are acting like sassy teenagers tonight. Grrrrr.......patience, patience! We have Red Sox tickets tomorrow, so they'll have to cool their jets for awhile! LOL
Have fun watching the Red Sox! I'll tell Dad you said hi. We're getting flooded here. Rain, rain, rain. Pouring out there now.
Karen
KAren, I had such a good time last year that I would love to come to your Roundup. It was so fun.
Boy, it's still raining like crazy here on the Cape. Nice to think of July and sun and daylilies.
And I would love to have you back!
Yup, we got a ton of rain. We have about 12" of water in our basement, and it keeps coming up from the floor. The sump pump keeps going and going, and our hot water heater's pilot light is out, so no hot water here. I took a cold shower here tonight. I wasn't in it very long!
Karen
Boy, I hope that the water in your basement is subsiding! We had some as well. Today the sun is finally out, and I hope it helps us all dry out!
See you in July!
sorry to hear about the water Karen.. hope it's done today
I remember Patches! He is darling. Looking forward to seeing him again this summer.
Thanks!
Karen
I haven't been to Mass forever. Is there camping nearby? We have been looking at NE trip for a couple of years. We've cut some of our travel, mayhaps it will fit. Anyone interested in black pussy willow? How far are you from Wooster?Ric
P.S. last time I was in Wooster was for a friends wedding at some country club on a hill and we drove home (to NJ) in 8" of partly cloudy. LOL Ric
Lots of country clubs are on hills! Karen, I'm gonna have to let you know MUCH closer to The Date.
Okay, Carrie, I hope you will be able to make it.
Ric, that would be great if you and Holly could come. We do have lots of places for camping around here. One great area is Myles Standish State Forest. Lots of trials for hiking in there, too. Very pretty. Nice ponds. There's lots of places on the Cape for camping, too. Worcester is about 1 1/2 hours from us. I hope I get to meet you guys!
Karen
We've been thinking NE tour since friends visited the Bay of Fundy. I've also been researching sites to visit on the way to and fro. I had a friend that raved about the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens when we were in college. He also said there was a nice one in Queens.Boston Public Garden and Montreal Botanical Gardens sound good . Any suggestions? July sounds about right, even though I spent a 4TH in a cabin at Camp Roosevelt in ME and needed a fire to stay warm. We fished for the elusive land locked salmon in a cedar water lake you could drink from. Ric
LOL! Doesn't usually get cold like ME does at night in the summer. Can be downright hot here, and humid, so just be forewarned. But you never know what we'll have in store for that time of year. Boston Public Gardens is really nice, and Boston has a lot of very scenic areas. I'll have to think of some other nice places to visit around here. Plimoth Plantation, where they have a recreation of a pilgrim village and Indian village, is a lot of fun, and it's right down the street from the Pilgrim Sands Motel. If you like history, you'll have a blast there. There's also Sturbridge Village in or near Springfield, which is about 2 hours from us. That has a recreation of a colonial village. I have not been there, but I hear it's great. Want to go someday.
Karen
Okay, I think it's time to bump this thread to the top. We're getting close to summer and my RU is right around the corner. I have 3 DG members coming so far, and maybe one more. I'm hoping a few more can make it. This is gonna be fun!
Karen
woo hoo!!!
Counting down the days!!!!!!!
Karen
Karen I would love to come but I have very little idea how to work this new computer which organizes my life. Does that make any sense? I don't even know what month July is in this year!
Well, July is in July, the usual month. My RU is on the 18th, which is a Sunday. I hope you'll be able to make it. That would be nice.
Karen
LOL you're wonderful, Karen!
Is there plane parking Cousin Nut?
if anyone wants me to root agastache for them.. dmail me.. I will start making a list.. I have almost every color now
:)
Allison, do you have any of the Tutti Frutti agastache? I would like some if you do. Actually, any kind would be nice. I lost my Tutti Frutti over the winter. Had it 2 years. It's only marginally hardy here. I had Black Adder and another I don't know the name of. Oh, and I lost my golden one, but I have a seedling that's doing well. I tried 3 from High Country last year, and they all died. One was Ava's Hummingbird Mint, and I forget what the other 2 were. Whatever you have, I'll take some.
Cousin Nut, there's helicopter parking across the street at the cranberry bog. I'm sure my neighbor won't mind. No room for a plane, though. If you ever want to visit my sister in Alaska, she has plane parking at her place. :)
Karen
cool a landing strip!!!
they are marginal here too... and yes I have 5 tutti frutti ... if I see any spikes that are without buds on the golden I will grab some too... I will just grab a bunch for you
edit -- I bought a bunch of rooted plugs this year... and that's why I have so many

Oh, Allison, source of all that's wonderful, I just bought whichever dwarf one HCG had on sale but if you have a dark blue-black one (for the front) or a dwarf redder orange one you could spare, I'll be sure and save you any of my meager offerings you desire. Hydrangea 'Quickfire'?
the only dwarf one is the apricot sprite... not sure if that is too light ... not anywhere near red.. the only red I have is called Coronado Red .... no dark blue either... the only thing I have that color is a not hardy for us salvia black & blue... going to try it this year as an annual .. or agastache black addler... but it's more purple
Nice, Allison! I'll definitely take some.
Karen
