I was thinking this thread would take on the look similar to the book 'A day in the Life'. I imagine it to be a glimpse of how big our country really is. It's diverseness. I think our gardening zones go from 2 - 8b or even 9. I'm truly interested in what your neighbourhood, the view from your windows, the areas that you frequent ( like a dog park) look like. My intention is not to show you up, bragging about early Spring.
So, here's what around me.
yellow crocuses
What's out your windows?
OMG!!!!!!!! I am an aficionado of others surroundings as well Linda .. always gives me great pleasure (and hope) to see what others are growing and/or doing with their properties.
Unfortunately, the only thing 'growing' , in view, in this 3a part of Canada is BIRDS LoL
Our population of Blue Jays/Grossbeaks/Nut Hatches/Chickadees and Woodpeckers .. along with about 20 deer is about all I can see, as well as dirty old snow which is melting and creating pockets of ooey, gooey sluggy MUD !!
Your pics have made me smile a mile and THAT is fer sure .. we planted new shrubs last year, and, I have noticed the Forsythia is now discernable as it pokes up from under a great wallop of snow .. so .. once it starts to turn YELLOW, my hopes will SOAR even higher.
Maybe be some of the 'winter sowers, from Calgary will post some pics ?

SNOW!
There are several dismal yellow shoots of Daffodils coming right up against the house. All the trees and shrubs are frosted this morning.
You said "OUT" of the window! My greenery and colour is on the inside of windows.
Over wintering geraniums and still some colour on the poinsettias.

OK, so lets see some more photos, indoors, or of snow. May be I narrowed the options too much.
It's raining here.
Hey June, that looks to be a happy deer.
June, It must be cold there as all their bottoms are covered with their tails!
LOL
Nice flock.
Ann
I am about to go out and feed our wee herd of deer .. picked up some apples for them as a treat yesterday ..
June .. my African violets are blooming like mad, will have to take a pic later ..
Weather here is nothing short of amazing .. which makes us wonder .. when 'IT' is going to hit us .. seems the storms keep sliding right under Thunder Bay, across Lake Superior and WHAM .. into Southern ON.
Attaching a pic of our Whitetails ^_^

Let's see those African violets! Marilyn, if you feed the deer, do they leave your garden alone? I ask because the deer dig down through the snow to the Helianthemums in my rock garden and munch them to the ground every year. Deer can either detect Helianthemum foliage through 6 inches of snow, or they remember exactly where they saw the plant before it started snowing. Clever animals!
Here's the view from my kitchen window this morning. It's been snowing all night, is still coming down, and the birds are busy emptying the feeders.
Oh June, it's so lovely to see the Cardinal, we don't have them out here.
I thought I added my deer photos of a couple of days ago, guest not so will find it.
OK .. just went on walk #3 with Lilly and have some pics .. I have to tell ya .. it's 38F here .. just a lovely day, not a cloud in the sky .. don't mind taking Lilly out often on days like this.
First 2 pics will be my African Violets .. Old Old Old gurls .. were my Moms .. one of them propagated by dropping a leaf (unbeknownst to be) into an Aloe below it ..
If you see dust , well .. it has become my friend LoL .. the wood stove is just about 12' from this plant stand ..

June
WOW! Great bird shot!!!
Ann
Love the birdies !
Great african violets as well - I can't seem to keep them going !
Hoping to take some photos this weekend.
Heather
Lots of snow here too.
Last, is a pick from up the rise behind the house , just showing the snow .. my perennial beds are under all that snow ..
June .. the garden (vegetable) is surrounded by an electric fence .. as for my perennail beds .. well .. it seems the solar lights and perhaps the 'whirily gigs' I stick in there keep the deer away .. mind .. SOMETHING ate half my Asiatic Lillies last year !!
UGggggg Ann .. just spoke with Lorna's folks in King City .. they have had about 10" of snow !!!
Hard to believe it's such a gorgeous day here .. don't even know why I am IN .. except that all the lawn chairs are put away LoL ... I did sit in the snow and play with Lilly a bit .. but havin a wet bumm isn;t one of my favourite things hahaha .
~M~
Excellent pics, Marilynne. Sorry I spelled your name wrong in my previous post! Love that banner.
June .. not to worry .. my name is MOSTLY spelled 'Marilyn' .. the other spelling 'Marilynne', is the Irish way and the one my Mom most often used .. so .. never worry. Truth be told, close friends and colleagues tend to call me 'Mar' ^_^
Thanks re the pics .. and I have to say WOW to your Cardinals !!! We have zippety Do here, but, during the weekend of Feb. 12 and the backyard bird count thingy that was going on .. I noticed after all the results were published, that 2 people in Northern and Western ON had seen a Cardinal .. so .. I am always on the lookout. Our Evening Grossbeaks (the blush pink ones) are out in droves this year along with a what we think are Pine Grossbeaks .. a beautiful Amber colour .. tried to get their pic yesterday but kind of impossible when I have Lilly with me ..
I have a banner for each season .. but .. the winter one is my favourite as it has SPARKLES on it .. looks pretty in the sunlight.
Looks as though we are in for another lovely day here ..
Take care
~M~
Well peeps .. we have MUD .. along with mushy water .. BUT .. we also have GREEN GRASS along a couple of the trails .. wooo hooo ..
I was able to do some yard clean up yesterday, lordie, the spent sunflower seed casins are unreal .. I could just wait and use the blower, but, even 15 minutes of raking makes the bare areas look better.
Spring is in the air here in Thunder Bay !!
~M~
I remember one year when I was living in NB. We had a bird and squirrel feeder in the front yard. When we could we'd take the scoop shovel and take the snow, with all the sunflower shells and move it over to the veg garden area. Not a good idea! We had at least 1000 sunflowers growing in a 20' x 20' area.
Another year I got some fresh horse manure from a neighbour. I didn't realise the many of the oats etc that the horse, could grow the next year.... note to self, get well seasoned manure...
Snow's going fast around here. Won't be much left by the weekend given the temps predicted. But we could still get a dandy storm or two.
Just in from out and sportin a SUNBURN !!!! A wonderful day here with grass greening up in front of our eyes .. have been sitting out and overdosing on Vit D ...
Saw a ROBIN today too ^_^
~M~
I've got crocuses poking up. I sure hope the hostas don't get any ideas too soon.
