So last year I sowed a bunch of pansies and violas - I gave them good bottom heat and total darkness, but when I checked on them it looked like many have sprouted but the seed hulls were still attached with no emerging leaves so I left them in there, and many ended up getting very spindly and eventually fell victim to damping off once I placed them under the lights.
So my question is, can I uncover them if the seed hulls are still attached? Will the leaves eventually emerge or am I just killing them? Thanks, guys! :)
Help! When to uncover pansies and violas?
Put them in a sunny window or under lights ASAP. The hulls should fall off on their own
Thanks joannabanana - just moved them to their nice sunny home under their lights. :)
I always thought pansies liked cooler temperatures to germinate; like no more than 70. They are one that I don't bottom heat; maybe I should be?
