I also got some gomphrena mix.. dont know why I got them other than I was hoping for strawberrie fields to be in there, but from the looks of the pak, its white, purple and pink in that pak, DRAT!

Looks good. To be honest I haven't even heard of most of those things, or seen seed packs....I think. Obviously we must have a more limited selection of seed packs down here. They're probably gonna go on sale soon...I would think. Doesn't appear the retailers sold as many as they usually do as the displays are still very full and the growing season, for most of the stuff, is over for now.

Gads then been restocking up here like mad!

I did tell ya my calla came back..its spindly, but its a growing.. I should have moved it from the lights a couple weeks ago, but I plumb forgot too. Hopefully it will get better looking now.

This one is garnet glow...

They should come back as long as they're kept in a warm environment or dug up and replanted in cold climates. They're tropical but they thrive on part sun or filtered sun here. I've heard of Garnet Glow. Just planted a bunch of calla bulbs in containers in the past week (the ones I bought at Lowes). Also ordered a few more including a red and a black one.

Here's my monster sized Calla Lily plant. Have no idea the name of the variety.

This is a medium sized one with white blooms with light pink around the edges.

Verry nice..

Ft Lauderdale, FL(Zone 10a)

Thanks Blossom. That tall one has them big 12-18" stems. I'd like to see that "White Giant" Calla that grows to 4-6 feet. That's a REALLY big one.

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

We got all out grasses cut back but that is the extent of the gardening so far. Matter of fact there is one tall grass still buried in snowy ice and won't get cut for a few weeks yet.
I'd love to see a 6'calla!

Plant Delight Nursery sells that giant Calla Lily and there's a photo of it on their website.

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

amor, are you sure those are not peace lilies?

Ft Lauderdale, FL(Zone 10a)

No, they're not Peace Lilies. Peace Lilies are very common down here and readily available at any nursery or garden center. Peace Lilies also have blooms that are not fully enclosed and the foliage is thinner in nature. I was beginning to think my large calla could be a "White Giant", but I don't think so. It's not tall enough and the foliage is not speckled.

Yikes!! That's gonna take a few minutes. Might as well just dump them in the compost pile

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

LOL!

nah..

then I just gotta fill them up again.. wheres the fun in that? Theres only like 40 of them!

Ft Lauderdale, FL(Zone 10a)

Nah. I meant just dump the soil and then fill them up when you've got stuff to put in them. LOL I didn't mean to just give them a hurl. That would be a funny sight. News alert. Flying baskets sighted in Blossoms yard.

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

Look out here comes one now!

There she goes. Blossom's got some "spring" in her step. A potting machine.

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

1 down.....! LOL! 40 more to go! Dont know what the next one will be!

Maybe tomorrow I will try scrounging some strawberries...

Ft Lauderdale, FL(Zone 10a)

Pace yourself girl!!! Its only the 10th of March. LOL

Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

Im late im late im late for a verrry important date!

Ft Lauderdale, FL(Zone 10a)

Nah, you're the early bird. Only date to think about is the date of the last frost. Don't want to get too much tender stuff in baskets outside because you know you'll be dragging them in again
