edited because it dawned on me what we are committed to in mid-May:

We raised a bunch of heifers that are turning two and will be having their first calves starting in early May. Calving heifers is a crazy thing for two old people to be doing, but we raised their mothers and wanted to keep some daughters from our best cows. I hope we will see many of you at the North Central Texas swap in Arlington, a much shorter trip for us that we will try to make right at the beginning of May before the intense pasture surveillance begins.

Arggg... It's on my daughter's birthday. I always like coming to this one because it's a really pretty spot. It's the just over a week after classes end so I should even be able to actually dig a few plants.

Maybe I can come early and leave a little early. I am down tentatively, but I know I won't have time to keep up with the trade lists so it will just have to be a free for all. :-)

How far is Loves Loookout from Tyler?

Someone more familiar with the area will give the specific mileage, I'm sure....but I seem to remember between 20-30 miles.

I will definitely be there and hopefully, Dee's schedule will allow her attendance as well!

yardqueen1948, it's about 20 minuets south of where Joan lives, where we had the TXRU in 07.

Thanks Ken! I did think it was a little more than that. I had gotten a yahoo map and they said it was exactly 2 hrs from Emory to Jacksonville going on Hwy 69 all the way. So maybe Love's is a little this side of Jacksonville? I can't remember where Joan lives in relation to downtown Tyler.

She is just off of 69 in the south side of Tyler.

I will be there bright and early. Will try to save our usual place.
Will need to see which plants survived the winter before I can post my have's and want's.

The Master Gardener's will have our Spring plant sale April 24. Dave is in charge again and know he will invite DGers to bring plants to sale. More information will be posted as we get closer to the sale date.

Ready for warm weather and seeing all my gardening friends.

Morning everyone!! I wish I could say I am signing up.. but I had made previous plans to go to an RU in LA for the same weekend as ETRU.... OH I never dreamed the 2 would be on the same date, but since i had already committed myself....hehe sounds like i went crazy...LOL.... TO the LA RU, I felt it best to go there. I will miss all of you terribly, and I will make sure I WILL be at ETRU in the fall. I'll be lurking... and drooling I am sure!!

This will be my first RU and first time to Love's Lookout. I can get myself to LL, but is it a large park? Will there be signs so that I can find you all?

Becky you will be missed, but have fun in LA! Don't let any gators get you, lol... Terri it is not a large park area and we will have signs. It is very easy to find. Glad you are coming!

Thanks Karen!! It was a hard decision, cause ETRU is my fav... awww Josephine and Sheila.. you KNOW I love ya'll too..lol. I WILL be there in the fall, and I'll be there in spirit too.. I mean hey.. I don't want anyone taking my "title" away from me..LOLOL..The sad thing for me is I finally have new plants to offer!! I was so excited to share with all of you!!

terri_emory..... It is set up like a rest stop...has a one-way road in and restrooms. We will be past the restrooms on the open area on the right set up along the tree line .
