For your viewing Pleasure, Billy's Barnyard
We moved my girls Miss C and Miss Z and Speed into the Pen with Billy's girls and his Rooster Hay
This is Miss C (with the Grey Tail) miss Z and Speed in the back going after Hay
Billy's Barn Yard
The missing tail feather hen...did she have tail feathers ever? or is she rumpless? no tail feathers ever grew? She may be an Auracana and the other is an Americana.
All of them are beauties.
Beautiful birds! Billy is very lucky.
Smedgekles, I dont think she ever had them, we got her and her sister that looks like her later on when they were about 6 months. She has never had them to the best of my knowledge, and they are the Auracana /Americana since one or both of them are laying the blue eggs, just found them the other day for the first time. I got 4 and out of the 4 I got one Roo Hay, dont know what he is, and 3 hens, one with tail feathers and two without.
Thanks Loreen, Just wait till you see your namesake, the next batch will be named Daves girls and they will have individual names after people here on the forum.

Billy is very blessed that's a beautiful group. His chicken names just gave me a whole new idea for my new chicks when they hatch. :)
lovely!!! and wonderful names! a big thumbs up from me to Billy!
They are beautiful MsJestr!! Congrats to Billy! AND the blue eggs! Yes, my first thought was Araucana and a beauty at that! She is really nice!
edited to add..
Her tufted cheeks are even, and that is another nice trait for an Araucauna

thanks for the pictures.
The ladies are right on, she is a true rumpless araucauna. She will lay blue eggs, while the other one (americauna) will lay the green eggs.
Miss Jester. I do love my namesake. Makes me feel like I'm styling...LOL...Hay
Haystack our Americaunas lays blue eggs too as well as green, so she may get blue from them too.
I think she is the one who is laying right now, they are blue and a lovely shade at that....
Much welcome Haystack.... Im thinking Z did not catch her Namesake..
Correction well taken Smedge, I had temporarily forgotten the difference between the americauna and the easter-egger. I love it when my friends keep me straight...Hay.
and now you've confused me...
I want blue eggs.. which chicks do I buy to get blue eggs? :)
Does anyone have a guess on what Hay is??
Miss J he's just pretty. :) Prettiest roo I've seen in awhile. I'm not very good at telling them apart by breed but something about him suggests OEG but that may be bc of the way he stands.. he stands like my little roo & that's what he is.
Greykyttyn: There is a single gene for blue eggs and it is different from the other genes affecting egg colour. So any chicken that has the gene for blue eggs will produce coloured eggs.
If it is a brown egg laying chicken, it's eggs will be shades of green, from olive (blue over dark brown) to light green (blue over light brown eggs); tinted egg laying birds with the blue gene lay a sort of lovely turquoise coloured egg.
To have a true blue egg, the bird must otherwise have the genes for white eggs. So a white Leghorn with the blue gene would lay blue eggs. While a barred Rock would lay some sort of green.
Great UK site explaining it:

A true blue egg is hard to get anyway.. they all seem to have a green tint. I've only had a few that were very pretty blue.
Either way.. "blue eggers" are my favorite large fowl.
And No, MsJestr, I didn't catch that till I saw it on FB.. Sometimes you gotta hit me in the head with a brick.. LOL Like.. There's your sign!! I'm honored.
:)
The blue egg I got was pretty and when I cracked it to make supper, it was blue in the inside as well
LOL I have talked about Miss C and Miss Z before...

Ok latest news in BBBY (Billy Bob's Barn Yard)
Tomorrow we will add some turkeys and last Saturday we added an Rescue Rooster.. He was headed for the freezer, and I really loved his colors... So I made a deal, grabbed a cat carrier and he came to live. I would like to get some pictures of him and have someone tell me what he is, they seem to recall sussock or something, they dont remember. I would like to get females for him to breed with.
Then turkeys will be of the bronze breed...
Pictures will be posted soon.
Great news.
What a great picture, what a cute pair!
I love my namesake!!! Is a gray head like me.
Tell Billy thanks for me.
Cute pic! His smile is always so full of joy!
In flight no less! Look at that boy's eyes... Oh my!!! I miss you Billy!!!!
Dont let the smile fool you...LOL no actually he is a good kid, but today he came home from his mothers in tears and really tired She would not let him stay cause he got in trouble at church, so I put him to bed he was really tired. He slept 4 hours and when he woke up at 4 he was starving. He did not eat breakfast cause he said they were running late. So I gave him a banana, a blueberry muffin and a yogurt. Then at 630 he ate a big plate of Corn Beef and Cabbage with Carrots. Big appetite to go with that big smile.
Ms J. I thank you so much for those wonderful pic's. Every pic, every bird, is beautiful, and when it's topped with that boys smile, it doesn't get any better than that. P. S. Speaking as a former pastor, I would not give you five cents for a boy that did not get into trouble once in a while, church or no church. That boy is priceless. Thanks once again. :o) Hay
We went to collect eggs and after we were done collecting he walked out of the coop and said "Thank you Haystack, thank you girls thank you all for the eggs"..Ok Someday I will tell him just what roosters actually do... LOL
I`m a sunday school teacher of 4 to 8 year olds in my class.there is nothing that bad that can happen in church. That boy is one handsome dude!!
Its his mothers way of not dealing with him, if she did she would understand he does it to get her attention. Oh well he came back home where he belongs..
I can't imagine Billy being bad... This boy enjoys saying yes ma'am and no ma'am... He says his please and thank you.. He accidentally knocked a coffee pot over in my truck and said the sweetest "I'm sorry" that you ever heard, without being prompted.. He said it on his own, and it was the cutest lil thing. I love that lil boy. It's too bad his mother didn't bond with him, she doesn't know what she is missing.
Thank you ZZ his manners are coming along... In a way it is sad about his mother, but such as life MY GAIN!!
I'm sorry, chuckle, chuckle. "Tell him what roosters do" They Crow dummy!!!LOL...
Im thinking of waiting to let him on the secret that they DONT lay eggs...LOL that whole process...
