Sparkly woolly goodness for Dahlianut

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Dearest Dahlianut,

I have completed spinning the single for your yarn. It is awaiting plying. I will make 2-ply yarn with it. Here is the preview....

The fibers include merino, alpaca, icicle, angelina, punta and Lincoln locks. There is black and white as well as a light blue, a teal, dark blue, and some light periwinkle-mauve.

There is gold, silver and blue sparklage in it. I spun it thick-and-thin to give it nice texture. I think it would make a super scarf or wrist warmers...

Oh yes, please dmail me your address!

Lodi, United States

Ehrummmmm...Moxon, have you been neglecting your missions to solve world hunger and bring peace to the Middle East in order to spin?

The yarn is fabulous, of course....I can just see Cousin Dahlianut rolling across the prairie, glinting texturally against a rich southwestern sunset.

Kingman, AZ(Zone 7a)

Im thinking she will be dancing with the sparkles

Portland, OR(Zone 8b)

It looks absolutely gorgeous! What is punta? I know Lincoln is a type of sheep.

Richmond, TX

Texture and colours both lovely - lucky Dnut!

Southern NJ, United States(Zone 7a)

How magnificent! The poultry forum was indeed becoming drab with no sparklies or NWDs or {{{hats}}} or socks. Just what we needed to cheer the new year! Ply away, Moxie, ply away. We shall want many many pictures!

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Sorry Catsy, but the whole solving world hunger and world peace objectives occasionally need to be interspersed with a bit of world kindness distribution, ergo the sending of the sparkly yarnage to Dahlianut (so that I can get back to dear Batflower's scarf...)

G_G - the plying is occurring! I am using my Louet wheel because it has a larger bobbin. It was spun on the Schacht but the bobbin is too small to hold the final product. That's why I love using the Louet for plying....loads of room!

Oh, how lovely, and what a handy contraption the Louet wheel is! Many moons ago I had a spinning wheel, which e'en now sobs quietly to itself in the attic, but alas, toddlers and jobs got in the way of my mastering said machine and the sheep are now long gone.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

All plied!

Now to be wound onto the niddy noddy to see what the yardage is!

ooo pretty!

Richmond, TX

Oh my, it IS sparkly ! Sounds like a lot of effort but worth it. Really nice.

Kingman, AZ(Zone 7a)

Where is Miss DahliaNut gone, has she swooned in delighted sparkly yardage? Has she got a case of the vapors from the wonder glow of the awaited yard?? OH were OH were has Miss DahliaNut gone, Oh were oh were can she be????

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

hello?... huh?... O I fear I swooned before I could typify cuz IT is the most BOOGLINGLY BEAUTIOUS EVER of sparkley yarnages dear Dr Doolotz ^_^ I am naming it Yasmin or Selena or maybe .....oh dear... (KERPLUNK!)

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

LMAO

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Oh dear! Our lovely Dahlianut discovered us but has gone kerplunk! Somebody get out the smelling salts! Wake her up! She needs her wits about her to be able to knit!

The yarn is presently airing itself dry over one of my hot air registers. Every time the furnace kicks on, there is a faint smell of wet sheep in the room....good thing dry wool doesn't smell!!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Um er do I have to crotchet her? Couldn't I just maybe have Yasmin as sparkley yarnage? She is so prettiful as is sigh. And what if she doesn't want to grow up to be something else? What if she is DESTINED to be the PERFECT yarnage?!?!? I think she will be a good addition to my dinner parties and social soirees. She will be all sparkly and witty and gay. I'm thinking she might like to wear a tiara and earbobs. Yes long dangly earbobs. They will reflect her sparkles.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Yasmin is reclining on my desk at this time and was unable to comment.

Moxie's yarn does scream (in a ladylike and refined way) to be admired as is and not twisted into some tangled fragment of transient wearage.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Yasmin does not scream. She purrs.

Yasmin Claire is softly laughing like silvery bells (just like you oft do Cousin Catscan) while admiring herself in her reflection from neath her lashes. O yes Yasmin Claire is her name. I see that now.

Clarkson, KY

It only wants flan...flan to fortify and stave off random kerplunkage. Dahlin's NWD is currently awaiting sparklefication, btw. Soon soon...

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Yes methinks this is a flanworthy event Cousin Nut!

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

I wonder where Yasmin is now....

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

OMG dear Dr Doolotz was she YARNAGENAPPED?!?!? ok remember how they always say 'don't panic. well EVERYONE PANIC BIGTIME!!! ooooohhhhhhhh wait a minute........ ooooohhhhhhh maybe she is travelling beknowst to Dr. Doo ohhhhhhhhh o ya I'm not the sharpest pencil am I? Probably should have been birthed a sheep. Dum de dum de dum I would like to be wooly

Lodi, United States

Dear Cousin Dahlianut--You are woolly. All the Nuts are woolly.

Ever So Great Grandfather Don Nut's educational career began in agricultural school, where he majored in animal husbandry until they caught him at it. (Tom Lehrer citation needed)

Anyway, not to worry, I hear Yasmin is subbing on Mythbusters....she should be back as soon as Kari returns from maternity leave.

{{{Is my Geek showing?}}}

I just hatched a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte!

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Dear Dahlia, worry not. She was posted last week. She may be delayed in customs as they ogle her sparkliness. Or maybe they sent her on to mythbusters?

Congrats on the hatch Catsy....PICTURES???

Joplin, MO(Zone 6b)

I wish Kari would hurry up! I'm not so fond of the girl that's subbing for her.

Yes pictures please Catscan.. pretty please!?

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

hey Miss Dahlianut! Has Yasmin arrived yet? She certainly should have....

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

Cmoxon -
As a new spinner I have to say that I truly admire your work! Beautiful, beautiful... dahlianut should be nice and warm with such a marvelous yarn.....
Deb

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Thanks so much Tamberlin. I'm rather worried about the yarn though. Dahlianut hasn't been around for a while and I do hope it arrived with her safely...

Kingman, AZ(Zone 7a)

I was thinking the same Claire, I wonder where she is??

Southern NJ, United States(Zone 7a)

I heard that she was having computer or server issues; I too have missed the sparkly prose and playfulquirkiness of our Nut.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Here I am! Here I am! Many adventures later. Thanks everso and I have great guilt for not popping in to say that Yasmin Claire arrived and she was wearing the most prettiful earrings which Dr Doolotz calls 'stitch somethings'. I can't find the Dr. Doolotz's note that explains what the 'stitch somethings' are for so Yasmin Claire is wearing them as earrings. Yasmin had to visit at customs for awhile. I don't think she got frisked or rumpled about though as she is still very sparkly and charming. Yasmin Claire was going to debut at a soiree but um, er, she is a little height challenged and disappears under the table when you push the chair in so I am looking for something for her to recline gracefully on so as to better bedazzle our guests. I haven't taken Yasmin Claire out into the garden yet as I also need to find her a parasol. She doesn't like hats so a parasol it must be.
