And, has anyone seen a picture of the dogs lately? Hee Hee - you saw what happened to their treat jar. OMG, even the coffee can got the treatment. I absolutely LOVE it. Your attention to the details is what makes it amazing - hardly anybody thinks of those things, but what a difference it makes! Terri

Terri, you and Ric are too funny! Not that there haven't been times that I'd like to "bronze" the whole lot of them! They've all been very patient with my winter project but there have been times they've all been exasperated with me! LOL
Jan, I'll put you on the list! LOL I was actually so pleased after the FIRST wall of ceramic tile that I offered to do my daughter's this summer. However, after tackling the SECOND wall, I'm reconsidering my offer. :)
Allison, I think you're asking about the light? It took us a long time to find lights that both of us liked AND within our budget :( We looked at all the options available at Lowes and HD but none of them had the look we were going for. I did a lot of searching online and found this site - incredible selection, great prices and we got free shipping! http://www.csnlighting.com/asp/show_collection.asp?XnID=4113 I had ordered something from one of CSN's stores last year for a Christmas gift and had no idea they had so many "stores"! PLUS, you accumulate rewards for your purchases and I was able to use the $10.00 we had already accumulated for the third light we ordered from them. :)
thank you thank you... nice selection too!!.. we were thinking the light in the upper hall can be seen from the dinning room.. and would like to match up the fixtures... good start thank you!!!
Thanks, Debbie, I'll ahve to check out that site, too.
You're welcome! I posted a few other bargains I found this winter in Bargains and Sales. There's some terrific deals out there if you've got the time to look for them!
RCN, You are a girl after my own heart!! Attention to detail is what makes the difference between a nice room and a great room. However, your OCD makes mine look look like latent tendencies. I had a girlfriend who chose which guys to keep dating by how good the room looked with them lounging on her sofa!! So, is Rick sporting the George Hamilton look???
The hall cabinets and mirror look exceptionally nice. Mirrors give rooms such depth and life.
Lady, I've been laughing for 15 minutes about that link, had to read it to DSO out loud.
Yep! Stormy, that needs to be crossed stiched and hung in every man's workshop LOL
ROFLMBO, There is more laughter here then in a comedy club.
Just heard the sounds of laughter coming from the next room. Had forwarded the tools link to DH. Thanks, ladygardener, for putting that in.
I second what Stormy said on the attention to detail with the sponged switch plate. Sure makes for a great finishing touch. I'm inspired now to try to do something similar with a heating vent cover that comes out in my granite tub surround.
Loved that tool link, too. Thought for sure Ric would have a few ideas on that but he hasn't posted yet. LOL Thanks so much for the link. Holly
Wasn't George Bronzed? TEE!HEE!HEE! Ric
Ric, you're always good for a laugh! :)
Stormy, I can't say the mirror at the end of the hall actually brings more light into that corner like I had hoped but definitely much nicer to look at than the broken bifold door! Rick keeps teasing me, commenting often: "I can't believe how much brighter the hall is now!" LOL
ec Go for it! It took me more than several tries to get the look I wanted for the "sponged" covers but the effort was worth it :)
One thing I think I forgot to mention and I don't really have a picture to show you the difference but I also put two more coats of urethane on the counter! I was still VERY unsatisfied with the streaking and decided to give it one more shot before I moved everything back into place on the counters after tiling. This time I used Satin instead of Gloss and also added the "extender" product I had picked up back in January but never tried. Even though the surface is rough instead of the smoother glossy finish, I'm happy to report the streaks are gone and I like the satin finish much better - it doesn't show the dust (or cat prints) as much! LOL
Oh how nice RCN glad the counter top is looking better. You put so much work into it.
Ric picked up a couple of decorative supports at the garden show for the last shelf we are putting in the laundry room. It is a high shelf that runs down the side wall. He has the molding almost all finished and ready for me to paint. Spring is coming and things are starting to pile up so we had better get it finished or it will go on the back burner again. I don't want that, I want it complete by the time we start working outside. I re painted the floor where the washer & dryer sit. I had sponged it in a dark & light gray which matched the old linoleum but with the new floor down I didn't like it at all. So I sponged in some tan and dark brown. Certainly doesn't match the new linoleum but it looks much better. I kept thinking that RCN would have spent 7 hours to make this look just right. Humm I spend maybe a 1/2 hr. LOL
I kept thinking that RCN would have spent 7 hours to make this look just right.
Yes, I DO get obsessive at times don't I? LOL If your floor "looks much better" than the 1/2 hour was worth it! Just think of how much more you can get accomplished in the time I would have spent on it! :)
LOL!!!
OOOOHHHHH. I love them!!!!!
Those are handsome and what a great deal! Hmmmm...reminds me I've got an iron "twig" fixture hanging around here someplace??? Supposed to be used for hanging pots, maybe I can find a use for it and incorporate it into the "twig" theme!
Only a little over a week before the first day of Spring! I'm holding off and will celebrate Spring with a new thread as soon as it arrives to share my latest ideas for "Spring Projects" :)
Drooling over those supports, Holly I'd have them on a post outside holding up huge hanging baskets. LOL
Some supports for hanging baskets are not capable of holding up a large just watered basket.
Are those great iron acorns work in the department......"Even a blind hog can find an acorn in due time" ? ]:o)
Why can't I ever find a deal like that???
Why? You need to develop a serious case of potty arm. :)
RCN, Your countertop is well worth the effort. That is something that you use several times a day and if it's not exactly right, it would drive you crazy.
Get those "Twig" hangers out! I'm sure you will find a use for them. Wonder how they'll look bronzed?? LOL
Holly, your hangers are beautiful! The price makes them so much nicer!!
Well it's been a few weeks and I've been MIA - a lot happening around here and I'm going to try to catch up! Inside work is basically done - a few more photos to print out for the frames in the hall but I've moved outside to work. Spring fever is finally here! I started a new thread for Spring Projects to continue reporting on our newest projects: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1083259/
