Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

I do my best to live my beliefs in every thought and deed.

I had read this before, but forgotten it; it is interesting. (Keep in mind the scriptures didn't come with numbered verses :) So who knows if the men who chose where to insert the verse numbers intentionally or even subconsciously created this set of coincidences?

<{{{><

I was raised in a very loving, christian family. I have experienced Christianity first hand and have seen the spirit move and manifest itself in people. Then I got sick.
And after four operations, I stopped praying. It never did me any good. But if I don't pray, at least I don't take it personally with God. After all, if God wanted to help, he would have done it by now. Now, it's my own battle and there is no one for me to blame if my prayers aren't answered. Accepting my fate is easier than accepting that God is letting this happen to me.
All the psalms cannot change that or what will happen to me.

Hi Subou,I don't know what it is to have had all that you did coming from a Christian family' I had a tumultous childhood but knew that others did not live as we did'I only knew there was a higher power watching over me growing up'I was allowed to go to Sunday School, perfect attendance,a new bible' Every chance I got I read and read more'I knew from all I read that there is Hope' Always Hope' In scripture it says there is a Mystery that we do not know or to that effect' Perhaps some know I don't' I only know, your heart is speaking now and many are listening' To me there is no blame only forgiveness' Don't give in give it UP to Him' Peace be with you, Sis'

I believe but I don't go to church. I pray, yes, I talk to God, yes. I guess I feel that I don't need to be in a church to worhip Him. Another reason I don't attend church, I'm not against it mind you, but I really don't have a set religion. I just believe He is there, watching over us and He does test our faith but He loves us and shows us in His own way...A beautiful sunset, a new baby, a wonderful soothing rain during a hot dry spell ect ect ect..........

Subou-
Don't give up hope. Hang in there. Be strong.

Tremont, IL(Zone 5b)

Yes, I believe in God but so does Satan. Just to believe isn't enough, we need to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. He paid the supreme price for our sins & it is His gift to us. All we have to do is accept His forgiveness. No matter how good we are, how much we do for others, it is all for naught unless we do it for Him, in His name.
Ephesians 2:8-10 "God saved you by His special favor when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things He Planned for us long ago." NLT (New Living Translation)I really like this translation, it's easy to understand.

I try to live my life everyday as if it is the day I'll stand before Him. I'm not perfect by a long ways & constantly ask Him to forgive me & change me to be what He would have me to be. It's so easy to get caught up in the things of this world that are really nothing in the end.

As for healing, I believe that it is our faith that brings about our healing or the person's faith who is praying for us if we don't have enough of our own. Isaiah 53:5 "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him and with His stripes we are healed." A verse similiar: I Peter 2:24 "who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness - by whose stripes you were healed." (NKJV)
"He personally carried away our sins in His own body on the cross so we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. You have been healed by His wounds!" (NLT) I know a lady who had an illinois that the Drs. said they couldn't cure, but it took about 8 years, but she was finally healed & her Drs. said it wasn't medicine that healed her, that it had to be from a power higher than theirs.

The reason I believe that it is our faith is because the woman with the issue of blood believe (her faith) that if she could just touch the hem of His garment (point of contact) that she would be healed. She touched His garment Jesusfelt that power had gone out of him, turned to the crowd & wnated to know who had touched Him. (The account of it is in Mark 5: 25-34.) vs 34 - And He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace and be healed of your affliction." (NKJV)
There are other accounts also, where He said that the person's faith had healed them. Some people seem to have enough faith to be healed instantly & other over a period of time & still others don't get healed. I guess we'll never fully understand until we met Him face to face, but I believe that our faith has a lot to do with it.

We also need to watch the what we say, for the words that go forth from our mouths set things into action, either negative or positive, but that a whole different subject & I've probably said more that anyone wants to hear anyway.
God bless.

Doubt worry and fear defeat all of God's promises for us. Wish I could bold that statement!

Faith come by hearing the word of God, we have to read it until we believe it. Not just hearing it but understanding it, and that is a huge undertaking or study. Using Concoradnces, Greek Interlinears, and many other reference books.

Going to church does not institue a relaiotnship with God. there are lots of Hypocrites at Church. Thank God, he looks on the heart.

Oh Subou! I hate to hear that. Obviously you are an extremely strong person. God doesnt allow us to be tempted more than we are alble to bear. Dont allow the adversay to steal those promises away from you! When we give up, we play right into the adversay's hands and he wins, and he destroys!!

YES,I must stand up and be counted also! I love Yahvah with all my heart and soul and read his word daily.I try to apply it to my life and do as He commands me to do.I fell in this old flesh but I keep getting up and trying. He is an awesome God and I long to be with him where there will be no more pain and sadness, only love and happiness.I have a very personal relationship with God and I take everything, big and small, to Him in prayer.I love all my brothers and sisters in Christ and pray for all that are not that they someday will be.

Cullman, AL(Zone 7a)

Yes I do! I was raised in a Christian home with loving Christian parents and became a "church member" at a very young age. I became a Christian as an adult! HE is real to me and has answered prayers consistently although the answer has been "no" at times.
Now I have a special prayer request for my little three year old granddaughter that is scheduled for heart surgery on Nov.6. HE has already brought her through one major medical event. She was born with a malignant tumor that was treated with chemo for her first three months of life then surgery with a very poor prognosis was done. God worked a miracle through the surgeons and we have a beautiful very very loving little girl that is now faced with another unrelated medical problem. We know God works miracles. Please put "Anna" on your prayer list. "Nanny"

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

I believe! I try to live my life just like Jesus, although, I don't alway succeed. Then I pray and start all over again. He has answered many of my prayers and has been with me and my children through many trials. I think we need to ask in order to receive, and sometimes
the answer we recieve isn't what we expected or wanted. Then we have to accept it as His wish.
Blessings,
Joan

How can anyone NOT believe in God? That's what confuses me. Why else would we have consciences? Why are there moral choices? Why is there a right and wrong?

This planet is no accident.

I have faith in God. Thanks for posting this.

Here's a little story I like to use to help in the belief of God...I'm sure there's a better example, but this is easy enough for me to understand...LOL.

As far as evolution goes, think about this...If you took all the raw materials that you would need to build the world's best super-computer and put all of these materials on a beach...let the waves beat down on the various materials...how many years would it take for the crashing waves to create this super-computer? The obvious answer is, it wouldn't happen. And a super-computer is much less sophisticated than the human body...so how can we believe that we all evolved from a single-cell organism?...it seems you'd have to have more faith to believe in evloution than you would to believe in God. Just as it's unreasonable to believe that a super-computer could be formed by crashing waves, I believe that it's unreasonable to believe that we could have evloved from a single cell creature. (that's just my opinion)
The big bang theory is pretty amazing as well. A bunch of dust floating around in space after this explosion and wouldn't ya know...it just happened to form a perfect planet, just far enough away from the sun to support life as we know it...just right in every way. And we're would this single cell organism have come from?...that we all came from?...I guess it was floating in space too and found it's way onto our perfect planet that was formed from a random explosion? I guess we're all an accident then? I may get in trouble for saying this...but I'll say it anyway..LOL...I find it odd that we have headlines in the newspaper that proclaim "Life on Mars!", when scientists "think" they may have found some frozen bacteria on a rock or something from mars, when you have a fetus in the womb that is declared "not life" until it has been born...I just find that to be very out of whack with all that we know about life. It's also strange how someone can be prosecuted harshly for taking a sea turtle egg (even if they wanted to hatch it themselves), but a human fetus can be thrown away without question...for any reason. Boy, I wish I were a sea turtle...I would surely have more rights than any human. Yes, I do realise the need to protect endangered animals, but I still think it's warped to protect animals and not even protect the highest lifeform on the planet (us).
Please, everyone, don't get mad at me...I'm just giving my opinion. We've all been through plenty of arguements on here and it would be nice to keep it to a discussion instead of getting all worked up about it. I have reasons why I believe what I believe and I'm sure you all have reasons why you believe what you do. There's no harm in stating one's beliefs...so please don't let this upset you, if you disagree with me. Thanks.

My belief: I believe in God ,the Father Almighty
Creator of heaven and earth
And in Jesus Christ ,His only son
Whom was conceived by the Holy Ghost
Born of the Virgen Mary
And by Him all things were made.

I believe!! It's also very interesting that Psalms is the largest book in the Bible. Psalms=Songs=Music...Cool! Bring it on! Smiln32-You took the words right out of my mouth. It's very hard for a believer to understand how anyone can't believe. Those are who I pray for.
