I will greatly appreciate your suggestions for trees w/ golden, light green or chartreuse foliage suitable for my zone 9. I would like them to grow to at least 40ft, but taller is better. thanks for your help.
Gold, light green, chartreuse trees for zone9
One of the plants I like the most is Cupressus macrocarpa 'Goldcrest' http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/76495/ . Not sure how it would do in your area. You could also try a Catalpa bignonioides 'Aurea' http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/78874/ . Locally Robinia pseudoacacia 'Frisia' does nicely but I believe it needs a cool summer to keep the nice golden foliage.
Cupressus macrocarpa wouldn't work, it can't take heat – in its native California it is strictly confined to the coldest coastal fog belt sites.
Cupressus glabra and C. arizonica would be fine though.
Resin
the problem we have w/ cupressus is they succumb to the high humidity in our area.
The coloration of the c. Aurea is exactly what I'm looking for. I found data that says it grows to 40 ft but most seem to stay at 10 ft. I need tall!
"Florida Sunshine" Florida Anise is nice and chartreuse, and evergreen and heat-loving. But not very tall. And needs light shade.

BTW don't get it confused with this one. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/1533/ It's a Fla anise but totally different look.
