Wow Bonehead, the one on the left looks like a stem on steroids lol.
The bad news is one stem turned white due at the top but is turning back colors. The good news is I have thriving baby stalks. Moved it to the dining room table due to a pesky feline who likes napping in the table top green house on the kitchen cart. She wiggles into the green house and almost knocked it off twice.
Ginger ?
Grrr!!! I love and treasure my three cats. They do an excellent job of keeping the gophers off of the property. But they also like to wiggle their way into the greenhouse and take naps on flats of young plants! They know if I catch them, they are going to get a face full of vinegar water from a sprayer. Doesn't hurt them a bit, just reminds them to stay out of there. They hate it so much, all I have to do is pick up the bottle of spray and they take off. They have nice comfy beds in the house and their own entrance, so don't feel too sorry for them :-)
If you have the space, donate a flat to catnip seedlings...course then your 3 cats would be vying for the space, or more likely just tear the flat apart in total.
Yes, I can just imagine the carnage which would ensue once they all got into it! I doubt they would restrict themselves to just the flat of catnip! Give me nightmares just thinking about it!
Meanwhile, I am attempting yet another location for my sprouting ginger. Ha, that is what I ought to do. A great winter project. Trying to grow ginger in every available location in the house until I get it right. The Kahili Gingers in bloom outside are laughing themselves sick at me ;-D
How about a big pot of cat grass and cat mint in another location that they can lay in? I've found that if I keep their catnip/catgrass on the floor and keep my plants off of it, they'll stick with theirs. I made the mistake of setting basil pots with germinating seeds next to them and Delilah ate all the seedlings.
So far so good with the Ginger on the table. I also put the side on the green house so she can't climb in there.
