Any idea of the name of this one?

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

I took this photo here on August 9. It's another lily that arrived with the wrong name. The height was about 3' and it was the first year to bloom.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hi Arlene,
Did you get it in a co-op? I would have to back track, but it looks just lik one I got in a co-op, I want to say American something, but right now not sure.. :)Anita

Winchester, KY(Zone 6a)

Looks like it could be either 'American West' :

or 'Pizzazz'

Hi Anita! It wasn't from a co-op. Here's another photo of it. So far the above thoughts are great ones but it just doesn't seem to be either of them. There is more yellow surrounding the petals than the deeper gold shown on American West.

Thanks Anita and Neal!

That's a great selection, Anita. I hope it's what I have just so I'd have a name (of sorts) for it. Thanks!

Did you used to go to the page and copy the link at the top and then paste it in the message box?

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Left click on the address bar to highlight it. Then right click to bring up menu. Click on copy. In your response right click again and then paste.

Corning, NY(Zone 5a)

Yes that is how I used to do it, can I still do it that way? Don't want to mess up and get any unwanted E-mails:)

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

LOL

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

sure can!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I click--------- really easy

Renton, WA(Zone 7a)

looks like one I have labeled grand cru

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Thanks but I have Grand Cru and this one is much taller and a much larger flower. The red on mine is not small markings but large areas.

Agawam, MA(Zone 6a)

Pirl,
Could it be Robert Swanson?

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Sorry, I have that one about 10' from the one in question. This is more difficult than I thought it would be.

Winchester, KY(Zone 6a)

There are a lot of red/yellow OTs out there these days. I've been comparing to pics I have and to website pics, still not finding any that quite match. I don't think its 'American Heritage', that is if mine is correct, LOL. You can see spotting and difference in shape from this pic.

Thanks, Neal.

I was told by a lily professional that it is definitely not in the American series. That narrows down the choices by a few.

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

It reminds me of one I have seen called 'Lavon', an OT.

Suzuki from B&D Lilies,
Careful its a small picture and I doubt the stems are blue.
When will they "get it" that we can tell an under exposed pic isnt going to fool anyone.

Doesn't quite look like my 'Lavon'. We had a mild growing season this past year, and the colors of my OTs were extra deep and rich as a result, but 'Lavon' still looks paler than Arlene's pic. I think the blooms are more out facing than down facing too.

Thanks for all the help.

magnolialover - the colors are very close on Lavon, per the photo at Breck's, but they show dots and mine don't have them.

ge - what a unique purple stem! I didn't believe it but the photo is nice and yet it seems down facing and mine is much more outfacing.

Neal - thanks for the photo of your lovely Lavon. Mine are much lighter.

I do appreciate all the help.

Every time I go on these forums I see some gorgeous lily I've never heard of. Neal, Lavon is gorgeous!

I love your NOID Pirl. I have one too. It is very similar. I am leaving it in the garden, but I wish I had a name :(

When I saw your photo (before I read your post) I was sure it was a photo of mine!!!

Now that I enlarged it I am certain it's the same as mine. How I wish we had a name.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Where did you purchase these lilies? Perhaps you have a vendor in common. That may not provide an answer but it's a start.

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

Teresa's reminds me of 'Sweetheart'
http://bdlilies.com/l9045.html

But pirl's, yours has a more recurved form, especially that first picture. I guess I am stumped. Moby may be right, if you have a vendor, you may have a good start on finding the real name to this lily.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Thanks for your help. I did find that one and compared it to mine but 'Sweetheart' looks smoother to me and not quite as vibrating with color as mine.

I'll write to bluegrass and see where she bought hers.
