I had to stand on my head to get this photo and I don't have a macro lens so I've tried to zoom in without it going blurry. I don't know if it's specific to Australia. It has a very fat body and I think there were spots somewhere on it. K

I suspect that this most likely could be a huntsman spider (family Sparassidae) in the genus Neosparassus - see http://tinyurl.com/yc6gyjv for an example. Although capable of a painful bite, they are not dangerous to humans.
