Very pretty blooms on that Andrea Prado. They are streaked pink? They really makes a show with the leaves.

I'm trying to have about one third the plants that Butch has in his basement. I'm going to a local orchid place (hopefully) today.

Powder Springs, GA(Zone 7b)

Lil, don't worry about limp leaves. They may be too far gone to keep anyway. Be more concerned about the rhizomes. Hopefully the soil is not soaking wet and the roots haven't started to rot or have already rotted. If that is the case, then pull the plant out of the pot and either place on newspapers to wick away most of the moisture or pull as much soil off as possible (even hose off the remaining bit). Stick the rhizomes in a cup of perlite (barely damp) and put another plastic cup (clear) over the top for humidity. Hopefully you won't have to resort to these drastic measures.

DB, you need an escort with a plant retail license (?) to get into Harmony. No retail sales but their plants get shipped all over and more than likely you've picked up some here and there. It's hard to mistake a well grown pot of begonias from Harmony. I used to pick up many from our local Ace Hardware before they went out of business (twice). My problem was I didn't know how to properly care for begonias at that time. I would overwater or sometimes underwater and killed a bunch. I now prefer to put the new begonias in my own potting soil (faster draining than most soils from the growers).

Here is 'Wanda' as it was growing at Harmony on Thu. I never knew it could get leaves as big as this or had such nice blooms.

I have to get the yahoo group to buy from Harmony. There must be a way.

Saint Louis, MO

Wow! I've gotta to have wanda too. Let me know about the yahoo group purchase...

Amsterdam, NY(Zone 5a)

I put the contact info, so I'm hoping the leader will take the bait and make a call. My friend the nursery owner asked if I want to order from jollyfarmer.com because he has big shipments coming in. Beautiful plants, but I want a mix, not 25 of the same thing...

The yahoo group may be contacting this place about begonias and other plants:

Why don't you ask your nursery friend if he can order from Harmony...
Jollyfarmer looks very tempting..

Amsterdam, NY(Zone 5a)

Oh yeah - I'm definitely asking about Harmony. I think it will depend on the shipping.

Powder Springs, GA(Zone 7b)

Here is a cool one - Priscilla Beck. Leaves are kind of thick with a soft fuzz layer.

nope it sure did not ,i give up lol

Powder Springs, GA(Zone 7b)

Don't give up. Make sure the focus is correct (a beep and a light in the display should tell you when you push the shutter button in halfway), don't jerk when you push the shutter all the way in and most importantly make sure your shutter speed is at least 1/20 of a second or faster. I noticed that your shutter speed is 1/3 of a second -which is much too slow for a handheld shot unless you have the camera on a tripod and set a timer to go off. Move the plant to a sunny window (not in the window but near it) so that you have enough light to insure you have an adequate shutter speed.

Try, try again is the old motto.

Here is U074 in bloom.
