What a wonder bouquet of special wishes from all my "Bloomin Buddies". I can't say enough how much all of you DG friends mean to me. It was a bit of a tough year, but at least I always knew that if I logged on DG, I would see wonderful photographs, glean great tidbits about everything imaginable and a few that weren't, as well as gather sage advice from you all That helped me immensely. Thanks truly.

DH and I are being whisk off to South Africa on Weds by my indefatigable, nearly 95 , Mom for a couple of weeks. She also is including my baby brother who called today to tell me I am "Officially Old" and to not forget to always ask for my "Senior Citizen" discount. I sure will, as that means more money for plants and bulbs. Patti

Victor, Perhaps, her orneriness, stubbornness, persistence and work ethic, plus her half Scot Hebridean blood are energy sources. I doubt that her 62 years of heavy smoking was a good thing, but she seemed to have dodged that bullet. as she stopped cold turkey at age 80. My dad didn't. He died of a heart attack at 67. Go figure. She also has a huge list of family members who lived very long lives. I hope I got her genes. I know I got her orneriness and stubbornness. Patti

My grandmother stopped cold at 90! Only because of the cost. She lived to 99.
