While these images aren't the greatest... I hope they give you an idea on how to cut and use them.
1) Cut holes in the bottom. I use a steak knife... Poke and Twist to make a hole
2) Cut in half, probably 2/3rds the way up

How does 7up bottles work? Will the color of the bottle filter too much light from the seeds/plants?
No, green pop bottles are fine.
Trudi's rule of thumb: If you can see your thumb thru it, you can use it.

Thanks Karen! You may have covered the subject before but i couldn't remember. I had a container hunt in my garage yesterday. I found a couple of juice containers that I could use. I cleaned a few containers and made all of my holes. The most difficult part of this was deciding what seeds to put in the containters. LoL
