Allium bulbs starting to sprout

Akron, OH(Zone 5b)

Last summer, I dug up some Allium bulbs from a friend's garden to transplant into my own. I put them in a small plastic pot on a shelf and forgot about them, ie didn't get them in the ground in the fall. They're in the sunroom, which is cold now, but not below freezing. I noticed the other day that the few on top have started to sprout.

What do I do? How should I store them? Can they be planted early early spring??

Thanks!

You could pot them up with some compost and keep them in your cold room, then when the ground is workable plant them out. They should be fine.

Looks like you got some Tulips with the Alliums, and the Tulips are the ones sprouting. Nevertheless, I agree with kniphofia's advice, that would be the way to go.

Neal is right, you have Tulips sprouting, I would pot up the Tulips & hide the Allium in a cool dark place till you can get them in, if it was me..:)Anita

They will all be better off in compost in a cool place. Good luck.
