He's been on the Tropical Plants forum a lot of late. But I see him on other forums as well now and again. He does the rounds.

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

thanks...I must give him a call!

Keaau, HI

Hi Carol!

Have you seen this guy in the neighborhood?

Hey...I heard him just about an hour ago when I was out in the greenhouse. There is a nesting pair around...I think between us and Ainaloa... an Io, right?

Keaau, HI

Hi Carol!

Yes an 'Io or Hawaiian Hawk, Buteo solitarius. One has been hanging around my place, trying to get the small birds that keep feeding on my Citrus.

How are you?

Hey, Dave..I am just fine...battling this drought! Got most things mulched before it set in, but have been hauling water out to some things away from the house. Bob just put 60gals. on the big stand of Asper Bamboo which looked really bad. 4 years ago I promised never to complain about the rains because the droughts are so much work!!!!

The hawks are magical to me...I love hearing them hunt and watch them circle and glide. The mice around here are very cautious...so are our cats...

How are you?????

Carol

Does Dave have a new website? I heard a rumor.

Xai Xai, Mozambique

No, Dave does not have a new website, but he is no longer administrator of this website. i am still pretty upset about the way IB just put him out! i certainly hope the new company doesn't make too many new changes!
isaac

I've been invited to a new website, but I am not interested in joining a closed, invite-only website. The front page is just some abstract artwork, and the terms that you must agree to are distasteful.

I was participating on a lively sailor's group long ago, when some went off to make their own little place. I was invited, so went to look. All they did was gossip and ridicule the sailor's group, that they kept a close eye on. And the porn got pretty thick right off the bat.

I have found that the only thing in life that you can absolutely count on is changes.

Xai Xai, Mozambique

sigh, change is inevitable i guess. i just hope this website stays as pleasant and user friendly as it is!

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Issac, do you have an email?
Rj

Watch out, Westraad, that's how they start....

LOL, don't be so cynical!
How can one choose if no one offers.

I am cynical/suspicious from long sad experience.

Question: Why would a gardening site be unrecognizable as a garden?

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

You are being negative, MolaMola, without any justification. You don't know anything about it other than what I have told you and your opinions, of course, are important...mostly to you. Don't judge a book unless you have read it...

Keaau, HI

Hi Carol!

Are you ready for the storm?

Thumbnail by Metrosideros

From what I've tried to see, I don't want to read the book, sorry,

I did click the link and didn't see anything that interested me.

Please.

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

And that's okay!! I feel that way about most sites I go to, and not familiar with, and don't want to waste time, however, I don't want to spoil anothers experience that has more patience than I do!

Keaau, HI

Here's the morning sky over Kea'au.

There's a storm coming; supposed to dump buckets here!

Sadly there's one coming here to. This winter matched the summer in it's hideousness

And in the news is predicted shortages of seed for home growers.

Hang on to your hat?

Keaau, HI

We can handle some weather.

I just get worried about what has happened to the garden after!

Big winter storm heading my way too. Supposed to hit sometime tomorrow and by Friday night we could have up to 5 inches of snow. lol

Cute!!!!

Very sweet!

Everyone, stay safe in your neighborhood's. That's what matter's the most! Most plant's can be replaced but not human's and animal's.

Keaau, HI

I like what's in your neighborhood, Rachel!

Dave, how nice to see you posting again!

The female syndrome in me make's me worry about you/kea/ku when it come's to such storm's.

Stay safe!

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

NOT even a drop of rain!!! Yikes!!!

Xai Xai, Mozambique

We had a thunderstorm here, rained buckets!! but i am not complaining, it was great!
yes, i do have an email address Randy, do want me to dmail it to you?
isaac

Carol, I might go get inside, after all. I am cynical. And just worn out of starting over and starting again and beginning anew every couple of months my whole life. I don't want to have my own website. sigh. Everything's been falling apart lately, again, as usual.

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

I hear you loud and clear!!!! The LST thing I need is another website to take up my time... but I see already the changes in one week and the advancements made... Hopefully lots and lots of databases...

Xai Xai, Mozambique

What changes have you noticed, Carol? sorry, i am not always that observant...
one thing i noticed is that on the newsletter there is a direct link now to unsubscribe, whereas before you had to go to you personal settings, and change it there.

We're here for ya Molamola, and understand perfectly. Thank goodness we're gardeners though, as the plant kingdom keeps us on our toes with the constant change and helps us cope elsewhere!

Well, I've been wondering if everyone would be leaving.

Dave has repeated that he's still head of this Garden, tho' he did mention the possibility of a new format. I've been through that several times on my Scuba and other sites. Takes a bit of getting used to, but the same folks are there.

Haha, the scuba site started as every post one after another, zero different threads. It was chaotic, but we liked it. But no search needed, like here.

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Yep, I don't think anyone is going anywhere just yet, mabe expanding horizons..but still here.
I like it here too!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Not going anywhere yet either. lol. Just kinda hanging in there and seeing what will happen.
