Has anyone seen this? Do you believe it really exists? Its on page 52...There are 3 colors, pink , white and yellow single large blossoms....sounds hokey...8-)
3 in 1 angel trumpet plant in Dutch Garden's Spring 2010 cat
Where are the pictures?
Someone who purchased one of those posted in a forum last year that the pot actually had three tiny plants in it, one of each color. What is hokey is that they do not have the integrity to post a real photo, instead selecting to use a computer altered photo to sell the plant.
Burgess has one listed too! I thought maybe they grafted
but I believe they just put three together. Pink/white/yellow
Ok I will try this again( having trouble posting message) It in Dutch Garden Spring 2010 catalog. It looks like three branches in a pot.
Here is a direct link to the plant:

That is SAME picture the Burgess catalog has.
Well it does just say "Three in One" not 3 blooms on one plant so they are realy not cheating, you just have to read it carefully.
Doris
May have to try it myself.
I got enough starts to give it a try.
me too
Have you looked up both of these nurseries on Watch Dog? The ratings are not very good. I received the Burgess catalog. If you look at the 3 Brug trunks in the photo near soil level, you'll seethat they can't possibly be one plant. The trunk bottoms are too far from each other unless the graft is below soil level.
Even dh said it looked like 3 plants in one pot.
Been years since I ordered anything from Burgess, the plants
were not like I wanted. Can't trust them. I'm with the Watchdog group.
It is not 1 plant it is 3 different ones in one pot, they must have put three young plants in the same pot because they get big fairly fast and it would be hard to put three large ones together, bet when you get it, it would be just three seedlings planted together.any one of you can do that if you have a large enough pot, I have one myself, just have not bloomed yet but should this summer.
Doris
Seems to me that if the plant was grafted it would have one branch pink, another white and a 3rd yellow. The colors would not be scattered through out the plant as it shows it the picture. Just my opinion.
Buyer beware!
There are a few people who have grafted Brugs but it is hit or miss. The chances of getting a plant to take on two grafts in unlikely. The chances of doing this by the thousands, aint happening.
You could do it with seedlings too,
I think it may be interesting to try it.
With seedlings you couldn't be sure you'd get 3 different colors, but if you started out with 3 cuttings of different colors ... Then the challenge would be to get them to put out a flush at the same time. I think the odds of that happening would be astronomical.
That is right. You can't tell what they are going to do. Brugs have a plan of their own.
Such amazing plants. I love them.
Oh, I have cuttings galore too.............I NEED to try this. LOL Anything I can do that I don't have to buy is a plus. :>)
It is also possible that they were transplanted AFTER they bloomed, Brugs are a hardy plant and can take almost anything. I will have to look up the three I have planted together and see what their colors are, I did it because I was short on pots, and at this time of year our store"s do not carry them.
Doris
I don't believe it would be any different these folks growing them in hanging baskets.
They just put a new "kink" to it. It has got our Attention that is for sure. I still would like to see the hanging baskets, they have to be HUGE!
I know they would be beautiful after they bloomed.
Brugs in h anging baskets????? Hmmmmm..............I have 2-24 inchers from Kinsman Gardens........(don't bother looking, they don't have those biggies anymore)...............and just HOW would one do that???
Oh, my, I am getting just SO many ideas here............
I read it on one of theForums earlier this year, Maybe you can look it up or start you a
"How do I start a brug basket?" Thread. I bet you will get a response. I will look for it, that is for sure.
Try it, huh?
Ken & Maggie grow some in baskets.
I think kenboy started one thread. Beside showing some his baskets, I believe he mentioned names of Brugs that are better for growing in baskets because they naturally tend to droop a bit rather than growing upright.
Well, I couldn't seem to find what I was looking for re: brugs in baskets by doing a search.........
Maybe you could look on Kenboy's page for posts started by him

Look at this Anna.
As for trying to grow two or three Brugs in the same pot, I just do not see a reason for it. The chances of all of them blooming at the same time is iffy and they will all have to compete for space and nourishment. Why not just plant lots of different Brugs in different pots and place them side by side, same difference.
Now for growing Brugs in baskets, I have never found one that performs as good as Orange Sunshine, she just loves to bloom after she Y's. What I look for is young cuttings that blooms in a 4" pot after they have rooted.
Here is OS in a pot but you can see, she would look good in a basket.
I tried Miss Enily MacKenzie, I love this Brug, but once she is cut, she does not like to bloom again until she has grown 18" to 24". This is good if you are growing Brugh for pots and such but not if you want a basket plant. I took a lot of MEM cutting that year and this is the smallest one to ever bloom and she only had one then grew another two feet, just her nature.
No Veronica, I do not have Bernstein but from what I see, she looks like she would do wonderful. Why don't you give her a try and give us a heads up if she is a basket winner.
They are all beautiful.
To me I would think it would take a very heavy basket to hold a Brug. I have all mine in pots and they get so big I can hardly carry them in for the winter, even though they hang over, unless it is a young seedling I don't see how it would work, you would also need a VERY STRONG hanging device.
Doris
Need a wench to lift it. My arms aren't that strong any more.
got bummed up shoulder from too many falls. Getting old ☺
Charleen
If it was a seedling it would not bloom until it Y'd. Brug baskets are not for everyone but I like having a basket of blooms up in the trees. I don't always keep them through the Winter. I take cutting every Fall and then plant up a few in the Spring, always using cuttings that try to bloom in small pots. It's just something a little different. I find they get pot bound in a hurry and this tends to push them to bloom more.
Do you run them up wirh a rope? How do you get them in the tree?
I know they have got to be beautiful. You got a pic of one in the tree?
