I had been forming my letter to all to let you know I was going to be off for a few weeks due to being unable to renew my subscription until sometime late January. My heart was heavy since I was sure I would miss a big part of my day connecting with all and learning so much about life from everyone. I just could not bring myself to write it, since I knew the tears would prolly short out my computer...
Then I logged on this evening when I got back and much to my surprise there was a letter saying my subscription had been renewed until next December. The tears in my eyes are from happiness, not sorrow.
Thank you Guardian Angel for Daves Garden and the wonderful people I have come to know.
Claire... The female Dr Doolittle who has kept me glued to my computer awaiting updates from her farm. I have stressed with her over her studies, marvelled at her talents and when I grow up, I hope I am like her.
Wren, The wonderful lady who took time to make Billy an NWD which by the way has become something he will not leave the house without. Today he was out in a sweat suit, no jacket and when I said he was cold, he looked at me and said NOPE I got my scarf on, I am not cold.
Kelly, I love reading her stories of her will to save her animals... she can sure sing a toon and is one heck of a baker.
Catscan... The wonderful lady that gifted me with many hours of laughter, and who I think about every night when my feet are firmly encased in warm comfy Diving Socks.
Haystack, a rooster among a bunch of Good Hens, always willing to help with advice and a smile.
Jayrun, teaching me alot about ranch life, and how to use a come along on a donkey, now to get a donkey.
Jylgaskin, The wonderful Christmas story that touched my life so much I could never express how... The peace I felt when I walked in the house after experiencing a new Christmas Eve tradition is just what I needed.
ZZ a strong lady who knows what to do and how to do it. She is starting a new career I love to hear about it.
Grey... LOL Reading the stories of her chickens I was glad to know there was someone out there like me that had so many questions and was not afraid to ask.
Many others on DG that have given me advise on raising chickens through the year I have been a member. Your questions and advise have helped us more than you will ever know.
I remember my first thread, our first chickens the rocks. Then when we got the babies, and how advise from my friends here helped us raise them to be wonderful chickens. When tragedy struck and we were chickenless, I lived the chicken life thru you all and knew that one day we would have a group again. You all, have in your own way, touched my life and become part of Billys as well,.
The travels of Lingernot have become a book for Billy, printed off for him to read for many years. What fun that was...
So to my guardian angel who paid my subscription, you will forever be in my heart. Please know that you have given me a gift, that means the world to me...
God Bless and Thank you from the bottom of my heart. and Billy's too.. He likes the pictures...
Roseane
an OPEN letter to my DG Guardian Angel
It is true, as the Scripture say's, be careful as there are times we entertain Angels unaware. We have all been blessed to have you and Billy as valued members of this great family. Merry Christmas to you Miss Jester, and Billy. (The man child) Hay
Yes there are many Guardian Angels here at Daves. I don't know what we would have done without them when we lost everything in Hurricane Katrina. :-)
I am glad that you and Billy will be still with us, we enjoy hearing about your day also
Any of the rest of you ever wonder how s/he ended up hanging with the Angels?? Lovely company....;)
I questioned that this morning talking to my son this morning. This is what he said.
Mom, remember many years ago the Christmas you were in a funk? It was a week before Christmas and I could come out of it. My boss mentioned to me that I needed to do something for someone else. I found out a woman's shelter was not going to have a Christmas, and I set to work. In 6 days I got presents for the 10 moms that lived there, the 17 children and the caretaker that was on duty. There was 3 trucks of presents, 10 bikes Gently used and refurbished, and 2 trucks of food. A special delivery a red tricycle was given to my by my boss which is still at the shelter to this day. My Husband (we are divorced now) played Santa and my kids were elves. We delivered our surprise on Christmas eve, and the day after Christmas my Husband ended up in the hospital with a heart attach. Some say I knew what was going to happen, but doing something for someone else got me thru it. Sitting in the hospital I got a a newspaper and read the story about what happened at KAAP on Christmas eve. The artical identified us as Silent Santa's.
Every year for the next 7 years, the Silent Santa's sprang into action working with CPS, APS and various needy families in our town. Donations came from local businesses and friends and family. One year my son asked me what I wanted for Christmas, and all I wanted was him to play Santa... He did, it was a gift I treasure to this day. We would set out on Christmas Eve morning with trucks decorated and have fun. One year we brought a meal and a blanket and stuffed animals to seniors that were shut in. Our santa was so overwhelmed that year he broke down in tears. We always did children as well since there was no greater gift than a child seeing Santa.
Then life got complicated, the kids moved out, I got divorced and the silent santa's were no more. I still get 2 angel tags at Christmas and the children get gifts from a stranger who they will never meet.
So when I said to my son, I am truly blessed, he said mom someone has Paid it Forward to you in your time of need... Things will not always be tough for you, and someday you will be in the position to pay it forward again.
I will be there again, maybe not today, nor tomorrow, but someday.
Nana always said -Do your best and the Lord will take care of the rest...
I'll say it again: Miss J, you are my hero!
Miss J.. check your dmail... :)
MsJ... I am so glad your angel came through for you. I love the person you are, even before your story above! That was awesome though! I think of you and what you are doing for Billy more than you know. I admire you so for giving him such a wonderful childhood.... single-handed at that!
I believe if you do the right thing, good things will happen. No matter how you want to define that.. it's the one thing I am 100% sure of in this life.
This strengthens my gratitude in finding DG.. I've said it a thousand times.. I am forever grateful for finding this site. Like you, it would be hard to survive without it now.
Bless you dear woman, you deserve the best.
Glad you'll be sticking around MsJ... =0)
and if you can find a comealong, I'll bet I can come up with a little A$$ for you. LOL
Your Nanna is a smart lady Grow...
Sometime I wonder if I am doing BIlly good, but when he does something like opening the door for a ladie at the store, I know that I am... He has given back to me a part of my childhood, I mean come on how many 45+ women do you know that spend the afternoon flying a kite in the arena, or call in sick just to see him ride his new horse, (It was a beautiful day) I was sick for 10 minutes, while on the phone with my boss, wonderful for the rest of the day. His christmas dinner prayer was my gift from him, he bowed his head and told god he was thankful for his Nanny and was proud of her. The rest of the adults in the room just smiled. I shed a few tears, knowing that I am loved...
Jay, I will keep my eyes open for one. then we will talk about the A$$ LOL....
Billy's a good little cowpoke, that's a sure bet. =0)
What's the name of that town just down the road a piece from y'all that has the wild burros mooching in the streets?
Oatman... LOL Billy has been there last summer, he wanted to take them all home...
You'd need a passel of comealongs for that little project! LOL
I've driven by it a dozen times, but never stopped. One of these days...
Oh glory!!! lolol...my kingdom for a video of you two on THAT little project..........*snort* gotta see that one...
Jay please do call the next time you are in the area... We shall scout out the prospects in Oatman..
Grow, you could hop a plane to Vegas and in a short 100 mile drive be our accomplice
Oh Grow, you gotta see this town... they've got meters that dispense donkey treats up and down the mainstreet. LOL Wild donkeys my sweet sunshine...
I'm sittin' here trying to figure out how to swing it, MsJ... I'd love to meet your 'herd'. And it would be an out and out blast to take Billy to Oatman.
=0)
Hmmm...we took a family vacation or two out that way...1 full week of driving around the southwest...loved it. But Vegas??? ewwww.....I'd have to land and then get out...
But they're always running airline specials to Vegas, and yes of course you would immediately rent a car and get the H out of town... that is the point, to go admire Billy and his NWD and his bronc and his chicken herd and everything.
Yes get the H out of there, it is a cheap place to fly into... In a few short miles you are out of there... Oatman is a hoot, and outside of town you can tour an old mine and take a horse ride in the mountains.. Then there is the gold fish pond that is buried up the side of the hill...
A buried goldfish pond? How is that possible? Do they have little miner's helmets? Do we feed them too?
LOL they say they are blind but I see eyes... It is a carved out pond up about 50 steps up the side of a hill, heck maybe some miner made it his bath tub long ago after the water from the rain wore a bowl in a rock.... LOL last time I was there, there were gold fish still in there, dont know if anyone goes up there on a regular basis or not.
Cool!
And the deal is I get to see both of yaz and Billy and the asses and the NWD and everything BUT Vegas?? hmmm....
Yep and if you so need the gambling rush, there is always Laughlin... LOL dont go there either much, just been to a concert or rodeo there.
Bleagh...no. Kindly, I thankee, but no.

Miss Jestr just how far are you from Vegas? Our trucks pick up there from time to time.. I "might" be able to convince someone to let me ride out with them. Only have an hour or two at most.. but it would be worth it.
I am about 100 miles from Vegas, not far....That would be cool
A little of my faith in mankind has been restored. Thank you to whoever did this for someone who so deserves it. Is there anything else you might need M.J.?
I need prayers.
y little tiny dog who has been thru everything with me a constant companion and feet warmer is missing. I had to go back to town around 4pm and she was in the yard with the heeler. I got home at 630 and there was a cage with a dog leash in my front yard, I thought someone dropped off another critter that needed a home. I searched all over for a new addition to the ranch and did not find one, so the cage is still a mystery. I went on about feeding and did not hear Tiny, and only the heeler joined ,me. Billy and I have searched high and low around everywhere no Tiny. The maint man came by and said he was up by here at 5ish and she was not here to bark at him. He joined us in the search, and still no Tiny. So I am hoping that she maybe wondered down to the store and someone took her home, although that would be strange, as she is not a friendly sort of dog to strangers. I looked for sighs of struggle in the dirt, and could not find any around the horse pens, the dog yard, or the back yard. With Billys nose running and the cold seeping thru my clothes I called it off. Now I feel so lost without my constant best friend next to me as I type on the computer.
S I need prayers please for the safe return of my friend Tiny
o dear, o dear.. sending many prayers your way Miss Jestr.
You got 'em MsJ...
Do you have dog nappers in Arizona? Roadrunner lost a dog back in November about the same way. Just disappeared all of a sudden. She lives in Hereford, AZ.
I hope you find her soon.
Bernie
Does Billy's dad know where you live?
Maybe the dog cage should be dusted for fingerprints?
Not really, he knows it is Stockton Hill Road, but since that road is 22+ miles long, its hard to pinpoint. I am not on the road. I know that Alan would not do something like that to me or Billy, he is just not like that.
I am hoping for someone picking her up. I will check the pound tomorrow. Just got back from searching again by myself and boozer the heeler. Saw plenty of rabbits, one coyote and all the horses were wondering what I was doing until the spotlight gave out, It is on the charger now.I hate to think the worst since I do live way out and there are wild life, coyotes and bobcats, I am hoping if that is truly what happened, she is in a better place now, and that she will watch over me from heaven and never be cold again. Billy knew I was sad, and wiped my tears from my face telling me it was ok, he would make it better. That is why I widened my search after he went to sleep, just incase I came across her body.
(((HUGS))) and prayers coming your way.
Angels come in all shapes and sizes. They frequently come to us in times of dire need, as you well know. When they have finished with their mission they must leave and go to the next person in need. They know when we are strong enough to stand on our own and no matter how much we want them to stay, they must leave us.
Many times I have had angels come in the form of animals to teach me or comfort me. I have learned to let them go when they must and treasure the joy and comfort they brought me.
Though I hope with all my heart that you find Tiny, perhaps he was one of thoes angels and his mission was complete.
Thnking of you an Billy, jyl
Amen...
