Wintersowing Japanese iris seeds?

Has anyone ws ensata seeds before?
If so any luck?
I will ws some seeds,I received in a trade.

I did. I got a bunch of seeds in 07.
WD'ed them in Feb of 07. I think they all germinated, as i had a lot of plants...
here is it winter of 09 and i have yet to see a bloom, but I have the foliage.

One thing i do recall with those... the seeds kept pushing back up to the top of the soil.
Who knows, maybe they need to be at teh surface, but i'd push them back in again...

here is one big pot... I never did get these into the ground, and i think after 2 yrs they never came back... I honestly can not recall ever planting them.

here... [before i cropped and optimized the photo] you could still see the seeds on the surface.... so I guess they all didnt germinate, but close.

I plan on ws my iris seeds,this week.

How deep are you going to plant them? Any other tips?

I just plunked them into the ground.

I do not believe I have a photo of them though... I just dug about an 12" circle in the ground and put them all in there.. no real spacing.
