Down by the Bay

Ive never seen the bay so alive before, but they eliminated commercial fishing a couple of years ago for the state of Ohio, not sure if that has something to do with what Ive been seeing, but it may have, as most of the commercial fishing a lot of undersized fish were being kept or tossed overboard dead. But their all feeding on something and there's plenty of it. Sunshine today, we will see what kind of shots I get, will post tonight.

Bay was active today again. I,m grateful for the sunshine today, but finding that the shots of the bird's in the bay calls for a longer lens, like I said before a 500mm and I might have been able to reach these birds. (detail)

When the Goldeneye's take flight they make a noise like a whistle (like you here in sports but a little slower).

Herring Gull, I learned today that lighting should be cherished. lol

After about 40min. at the bay, I moved on to the pond again. The light helped with the shots here to.

No sunshine for another week according to forecasts. Will continue the thread next week hopefully.

That's a rich place, Burd. I just love those actions shots.

Love the action shots too. Nice activity at the bay, looks like a great way to spend a few hrs.

Visited the Lake today. Have a few shots of Ring-billed Gull's. Shad (fish) are in large quantity's and so are the Ring-billed's.

Never seen this many at one time before.

Lots of great shots from your visit to the lake! Those shad look almost too big to swallow.

Thanks JuneyBug. Gull's can swallow fish much bigger than you see, its weird sometimes what bird's can get down their throats.

LOL! I guess so, they aren't built like we are, after all...

What an incredible sight that is, Burd. All those gulls! I'll bet it was noisy. Great inflight shots.
