I normally don't get too many decent photos with a background like this. The auto-focus usually wants to focus on the background.
Bald Eagle - Our National Symbol - Vol. #6
I luv the way the light catches the feather colours on the juvenile in pic 7
Great shots Linth! Love the one of "a good view of an adult flying by".
Beautiful photos Linth. Sounds like you got some nice gifts there.
Happy New Year, everyone ....... we had a little snow here this morning. Birding in my neck-of-the-woods has been terrible. On Sunday my wife and I went to Bombay Hook in DE. There's 80,000 Snow Geese there. I didn't see one within a mile. It was so poor, we left after an hour and traveled 80 miles to Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. We got there one hour before sunset. We should have just gone home. Not much there either to photograph. I guess I/m spoiled.
So, back to some left over Bald Eagle photos from 2 1/2 weeks ago. We are nearing the end. This is an adult with a pretty nice catch.
Gorgeous photography Linth! I don't care how old these pictures are. They're so filled with action that they're just plain excellent!
Sorry about your birding trip though. That's got to be very discouraging, but maybe the next time will be twice as good for you-don't give up.
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Linth and all!
duc, we have had so much wet weather recently that the water levels are up everywhere. That doesn't help. We only had one hour at Blackwater but I did see 4 Bald Eagles and heard a few more. But nothing close. I was hoping to see more waterfowl.
This is a photo of the Bald Eagles favorite perch. I don't think I've ever been to Blackwater when there wasn't one or two sitting on this dead tree, a good distance from the wildlife drive. Shooting close to sunset casts a different appearance to your photos. That's sometimes good and sometimes bad ......
Beautiful coloring on the geese and that tree is perfect for the eagles.
Oh he dropped his Walleye, that would have been a nice lunch, for anyone. Love the action shots Linth! I know how you feel when you want to get out somewhere with the gear, sometimes things don't go the way you would like. Its always cloudy and snowing and wet here, no light, and short days. Anyways Happy New Year to All!!!
Happy New Year Everyone!
Great pics Linth!
Happy New Year, Linth and everyone who follows this wonderful thread.
Happy New Year Charlie!
As the sun set on 2009, we can all relish in our photo memories for the year. The decade just completed was filled with unimaginable enhancements to our photography wardrobe. We are a few dollars poorer but much richer in our knowledge and appreciation of the nature that surrounds us.
It's a new year, it's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life for me. The birds are flying high ...... and I'm feeling real good.
Welcome 2010 ......
Well said!
Yes, well said Charlie!
